Some people have had delays, but most issues usually come down to documentation rather than the activity itself.

As long as your paperwork is clear, proof of funds, and proper confirmation from the gym, approvals are generally smooth.

If you’re going through the Muay Thai route, we run structured training at WKK Gym in Bangkok and can guide you on what’s typically needed from the gym side for the DTV process. Happy to discuss more if helpful 👍

There are a few gyms in Chiang Mai offering DTV, but it’s worth checking directly as pricing, sessions per week, and how they handle the visa paperwork can vary quite a bit.

Most will offer packages around 1–3 months+, with daily or twice-daily sessions, but the key is how reliable they are with the documentation.

If you’re open to Bangkok as well, we run Muay Thai training at WKK Gym with a structured setup and can guide you clearly on pricing, sessions, and what’s needed for DTV. You’re also welcome to visit and check it out in person.

From what people have shared recently, most embassies, including Hanoi, usually expect full bank statements rather than just the ending balance, so they can see consistency of funds, not just a snapshot.

That said, requirements can still vary slightly depending on the officer reviewing your case, so it’s safer to prepare both.

From what’s been shared, you usually don’t need to fully lock in accommodation upfront, many people use a temporary booking (refundable hotel or short stay) just to support the application, then finalise plans after approval.

Same with flights, some go with a reservation or one-way first, then sort the return later depending on their plans.

It can vary a bit depending on where you apply from, so worth keeping things flexible.
