There is huge backlog what I have heard from friends overall even for tourist visa. Your best bet is find a country with appointment slots that fits your deadline. However don't know what is open anywhere personally but would assume what you can or not do you need to query the embassies directly.

Let me know if you find anything out overall insurance industry in Asia could use some disruption since I find most lacking key points in comparison to Europe.

Did you check under sandbox for Samui? There is some special rules for flights as well. I suspect your flight is not direct?

Agree with Stuart I also think depends on what hotel. Maybe also how many nights you book? Try to get into contact with people posting her earlier being successful despite positive what hotel they used. That is what I would do in same situation.

not sure how much cheaper it usually is but you can try some of the SHA+ taxis and shop around. I can agree it is on the high end but not sure how many willing to go there. My taxi was 700 THB and I went to the central part near Phuket Country club.

I am not sure what card or where he had the unfortunate encounters. Credit card is good if you encounter fraud. But normally ATM in normal areas are perfectly fine exactly like everywhere in the world.

I have made hundreds of withdrawals in Thailand and region and never had any issues other than no network. Meaning have to wait or try another. It is no different from any other place in Europe. If the machine looks dodgy or tampered with find another. Or go into the bank lobby which in many parts have staff on duty as well. For example in shopping malls.

Wouldn't worry to much about it and not more then I would in Europe...
