Nope, no age restriction. As above can get Retirement Visa but maybe does not want to bring 800k into a Thai Bank :-)

It would seem there were new directives issued a week ago

"Sixth, the operators will have to limit the validity period of SIM cards of foreign tourists to no more than 60 days.

Foreigners will not be allowed to top up the call value to extend the service usage after the service expires. They will have to register to authenticate their ID with the operators again to renew the usage."

From the Phuket News Article dated 6th July - new Sim rules have been issued. Just like the banks it is all down to call centre scammers etc.

It is a how long is a bit of string question. Some do it for years and nothing said and others get pulled 2nd time. It is down to the discretion of the Immigration Officer at point of entry.

@Christian *****
Yes. So if I did one in person. Then I left country and came back. That next one has to be in person or by mail too.

MFA should really be telling people. It could be a simple note on the visa. Not doing it will not incur any penalties 99% of the time. However, if immigration wanted to be arsed and find fault the door is open of people not doing it.

The 90 Day Report ie TM47 report is for people staying 90 days consecutively in Thailand on many visa types. Not just DTV. For example B and O visa holders do it too. It seems many DTV holders are not aware of this as not told when visa issued by the MFA

@Jack ******
AI is incorrect there. The DTV stands for "Destination Thailand Visa".
Greg ********
Some people deny it but certain countries/passports do have extra scrutiny.
Greg ********
If you leave and come back the 90 days resets. You would then only need to do the 90 days after 90 days consecutively in country - proviso 2 weeks before or 1 week after.
