TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, there is no age limit for the DTV visa application, and your 59-year-old mom can apply under the soft power category for medical treatment. However, she will need to provide proof of ongoing treatment in Thailand, such as medical plans and appointment dates for at least six months. Some commenters also suggest that she might consider a retirement visa, which has different requirements.

Yes can. You will need to show proof of ongoing treatment in Thailand, including the medical plans, appointment dates over the span of 6 months

Nope, no age restriction. As above can get Retirement Visa but maybe does not want to bring 800k into a Thai Bank :-)

No age limit, but also a 59 year old could go for a retirement visa and get a 1 year stamp and not have to show any proof of activity

I see. Thx a lot. But we don’t have that amount of money in Bank. And retirement visa is way more expensive. So I am thinking about DTV.

Anonymous participant retirement visa is much less expensive. Costs about 20% of the amount of the DTV visa.

And DTV requires showing 500,000 baht. Retirement is 800,000 only an extra 300,000 baht.

Anonymous participant Retirement visa is 1900 Baht for 1 year. You do need the 800k in a bank or 65k a month income though.
