Hey, all! I am finishing my visa application (DTV) and am on the last page. Just had a few questions before I submit; 1 & 2 seem pretty straightforward. 3, are they asking for my current US address, like a bill addressed to me? Not sure what they’re askin’ for. 4; can this be my US account, or do I need a Thai banking account? I do have a Wise account, that I could transfer funds into, however I’d prefer to keep it in my US account. 5; I do have a letter from a Muay Thai gym, however, it is 6 photos, and the maximum picture size can be no larger than 3MB. I have a file compressor, but I’m not sure which of the 6 files to upload.

I leave on the 22nd, for Pattaya. Hope this is enough time.

Thanks in advance!

1. Biodata page of passport or travel document

2. Photograph taken within the last 6 months

3. Document indicating current location

4. Financial evidence: amount no less than 500,000THB

5. Proof of activity to attend the activity or letter of appointment from hospital/medical center

Hi everyone,

Has anyone applied for the DTV with a sponsorship letter from their employer instead of having 500,000 THB in their own bank account? My friend is a remote worker, and their employer has offered to provide a sponsorship letter to support the application.

On the official website ([[members only])), it states:

*"Financial evidence: amount of no less than 500,000 THB, e.g., bank statements, sponsorship letter."*

This seems to suggest that sponsorship documents are accepted as financial evidence. Has anyone had success with this? Could it depend on how well-established the sponsoring company is?

Thanks for sharing any experiences or advice!

I have sent off my DTV application yesterday however when uploading the supporting documents of financial evidence I showed my bank with the funds however I wanted to add 6 months of bank statements and client invoices too but it would only let me upload one document for this - is there any way to add further information to your application as I gathered a lot of stuff but could only upload 1 per section??

DTV approved - 5 business days, 2 additional document requests. Submitted 02 Jan 2025. Approved approx. 4 hours after second document request.

I'm in Australia (a local), run my own company, did not have 500,000tbh in cash to show.

Financial evidence:

- Contents page (found this to be very helpful as my second document request was for the same thing as the first and I forgot to update the contents page)

- Sponsor letter from family member

- Driver's license of family member

- Evidence of the 500,000thb in their accounts (document request updates were for updated statements)

- My personal tax return summary for the last 2 lodged years.

- Company P&L for previous tax year as not yet lodged.

Employment evidence:

- Contents page

- ASIC Company Registration

- Shareholders register of company (showing I'm sole shareholder)

- ABR Company extract

- Letter from company approving remote work

- Employment contract for myself from company (this was an additional document request)

- Link to my company website

- Links to portfolio of existing clients/work.

Thanks to all the comments and answers to other questions in the group, really helped me get this done in record time. Hope the detail helps someone else out!

Has anybody applied for DTV as a spouse of a DTV visa holder? My husband plans to get it first and then I want to get it as his spouse. We are thinking of making a sponsorship letter to cover my financial evidence. Has anybody applied with that? What does that letter have to look like? Also, to complicate things even more, we are a gay couple and I am not sure if Thailand will recognize foreign gay marriages immediately after January 23 (when their law is coming in force). Any thoughts appreciated!

Hey Everyone,

**1 . Financial evidence: amount of no less than 500,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, sponsorship letter (Please upload a current bank statement with your name)

**Does this have to be in THB? I'm in Canada, and I showed them my account which has a lot more than 500k THB, but in Canadian Currency, but it came back asking for same thing.

Any ideas?

Hi everyone!

I’m planning to switch to the Non-Immigrant O Marriage Visa soon as I am now married to a Thai citizen with a child.

I’ll be canceling my current visa, then apply for the initial 90-day visa out of the country.

Since I don’t want to be away from my wife and child for too long, I’m trying to ensure everything is prepared and that the process is as smooth as possible. I have some questions I’d love your advice on if you’ve been through this recently:

1️⃣ E-Visa Process: Has anyone recently applied for the 90-Day Non-Immigrant O Visa through the new e-visa process? Any tips?

2️⃣ Country Choice: Should I go to Vietnam, Lao, or Cambodia to apply? Which is more efficient or hassle-free? The embassy in Vientiane says about 10 to 15 days while Ho Chi Minh City says only 5.

3️⃣ Address Details: Should I list the hotel address where I’ll stay in the country I apply in, the Thai house I’m renting, or my home country address?

Should I add my Thai home or home country as a permanent address option?

4️⃣ Intended Departure Date: Should I put the date 3 months from arrival or a year out?

5️⃣ Accommodation Type: I rent a house—should I select “Guesthouse” or “Private Property”?

6️⃣ Financial Evidence: Will an online bank statement from ibanking.bangkokbank.com work? Or should I get the bank to print it out and then scan it for upload?

7️⃣ Proof of Relationship: When I was going to apply in person they asked for a copy of the Kor. 2 from the local office, so do I need that as well or just upload my child's Thai birth certificate and original Thai marriage cert.?

When applying in person, they asked for additional documents like maps, photos of us at home, and house registration. Do I need anything else like that?

Any advice, experiences, or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Today I got my DTV approved from Hanoi. Thanks for all help in this group. 🙏

Last Thursday evening I submitted (Muay Thay, 6 months course, CoreCombat Chiang Mai) and was displayed on Friday "pending approve" until yesterday, when they set me back again to "pending check documents". This morning they asked for an update of the financial evidence (my first bank statement was of the 21st). 2h later I got the visa approved by email.

Hello, apologies if this question has already been answered, but I searched the group history and did not see anything relevant.

Will an IRA account + balance suffice for financial evidence of sufficient funds or does this need to be stored in account that is considered more liquid?
