The Royal Thai Embassy in London only states that you must show financial evidence of at least £11,000 (≈ 500,000 THB), for example via bank statements or a sponsorship letter. It does not specify how long that money must have been in your account. Anyone from the Uk been turned down for not having it in there for less than 3 months?
Income tax requested for DTV application - not having one since being a nomad:
Got requested - Financial evidence: an amount of no less than 500,000 THB, (e.g., bank statements for the last three months, sponsor letter) (already provided)
+ Provide the salary slips/income for the past 6 months, please highlight them in your transaction records, and provide your income tax last 2 years.
I have 2 questions:
1. Since, I've been moving around multiple countries (less than 6months each country) - It wasn't required by any of these countries to pay income taxes - what should I attach as income tax for the last 2 years?
2. I attached the bank statements for 3 months with over 500.000vnd.
Now that I will have to attach the payslips for the past 6 months, should I just highlight them in that 3 months bank statement - or should I attach another 6 months transaction record which I haven't got?
Attempting to apply for a non-o visa (retirement). On the last page, last item it asks for “Financial evidence showing monthly income of no less than 65,000 or having current balance of 800,000. (Bank statements for the last 3 months, sponsor letter)
Hello, I already have a DTV but wanted to apply for my wife + daughter & wanted to understand the “Financial Evidence”.
Is it sufficient to write a “sponsor letter” stating I’ll be covering it cost & attach a bank statement showing that I’ve had 500,000 THB for the past 3 months or is the requirement going to be 1,500,000 THB (3 x 500,000)?
My application was approved, and I'm posting this as a reference for those applying through the embassy in Mexico City.
I decided to apply in my own country instead of going to a country in Southeast Asia because that way I avoid translations and misunderstandings in my documents, as well as unnecessary reviews.

Hello, has anyone had any success in using stocks / shares as the majority of the 500k thb minimum requirement with the London embassy on a soft power DTV?
I’m a German citizen currently preparing my DTV application at the Thai Consulate in Munich and would love to hear your thoughts or experiences.
* I’m still officially employed by a German company, but I’ve been laid off and will be on paid garden leave from Nov 1, 2025 to Feb 28, 2026.
* I already landed my first freelance gig (starting Oct 15, 2025), earning €1,600/month, with a written contract and confirmation that I can work remotely and from abroad. I have a German business registration (currently as side business until I switch to main business by March 2026).
* Financial evidence & document indicating current location are not an issue.
I am additionally planning to submit:
* Cover letter
* Screenshots of my website (with my services)
* Screenshots of my Upwork profile (with my services)
Question:
Should I mention my current employment and garden leave until Feb 2026 in my motivation letter?
* If I don't, I am worried because I can't yet provide proof if income as freelancer (as I will only issue my first freelancer invoice beginning of November)
* If I do, I’m worried it might raise questions or lead to requests for confirmation from my employer – which I probably can’t get.
Putting together all the documents needed for my workation DTV. (no more applications through Thai embassy in london anymore by the way? Other than bank statements, cover letter, screenshots of website, proof of address/passport photo/copy of passport....do i need anything else before I go forward with it all?
