fair enough, things changed as of 17 February but I just opened another bank account last week. It does of course depend on each branch manager.

You are not classed as a ‘tourist’ anymore if you come in and out on visa exempt or tourist visas for over a year.

Consider getting a long term visa so that you can continue your relationship with your Thai 🇹🇭 gf.
