Hi has anyone extended their DTV visa in Kho samui at the 180 day point. Specifically looking for documentation they require. Looked at requirements on line but would like some clarification in case they need something not listed. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community suggests that extending a DTV visa in Koh Samui may be problematic, as immigration officers there are known to resist granting extensions and often provide inconsistent requirements. Many users recommend doing a border run instead, which is seen as a simpler and more effective solution to obtain a new 180-day stamp.
its really simple and on the evisa website. You simply leave Thailand when your date valid till stamp in your assport shows. So your answer is leave the country and re-enter on 180 days or before
Ho ******
I really recommend that you do a border run! Safe, easy.
I'd be willing to bet no one has gotten an extension of the DTV at Koh Samui. Immigration offices DO NOT want to give extensions for DTV. And Koh Samui is known as one of the "rogue" immigration offices that does what it wants, regulations be damned. Reports from pretty much every immigration office are that the officers are telling people to do a border bounce (leave and return) to get a new 180 day stamp. The people that insist on an extension are then given difficult lists of requirements that change each time they return with everything.
Although, my post is not about a DTV extension, a Non O Retirement extension (at least the first one) is now a 7 week process here, involving 3 trips to Immi…
from my experience here in Samui getting a non-o extension they seem to do everything they can to force you to use the visa agency right outside the door. As Brandon says they add a bunch of requirements that aren't on their own list and are not any official requirement. Then when you show up and have them review the documents, they'll set up an appointment for another day and not mention any of those missing documents.
