If you are planning a longer stay, you could always consider a flight to Perth for a METV.

What you said makes me more confident in my plan.

I will be spending time near Surin, actually 30 mins drive from chum chom border, so can do the entry hops from there, but i dont think they do visas, will have to research more.

So the last trip will be at Suvannakhet i guess.

i guess you get slightly better value for time spent, by not having to pay for extensions?

For sure you would get better value if you live close to a border,

or if you have to go upcountry anyway and stay near a border it would be convenient.

The thing to remember is, with nearly all Thai visas, you must expect to be inconvenienced every 3 months in some way.

Wether it be border bounce or reporting to immigration.

In any case, they stamp the information in your passport, its not rocket science!

The official Thai IMMs website is full of broken links and is mostly in Thai anyway.

In my own country, i noticed the websites of many Thai consulates are very old, never have details and have probably never been updated in 10 years.

Granted though, i do agree with your point- for anyone who wants the info, it is very easy to research.

Thaivisa website is always at the top of the results list, in any search about the subject.

Ok, hence the other guy saying he prefers the METV..sounds a better option. But if the OP had a non O, im guessing re-entry is the only option?
