TLDR : Answer Summary
The Chong Chom border crossing remains open during the Songkran holidays, as all borders in Thailand operate year-round without closures for government holidays. Border runs can provide varying periods of stay depending on nationality, typically offering either 15 or 30 days upon re-entry.

It depends on your passport. Some get 15 some get 30. Check the immigration office in your area before going to the border. Flying out and in the same day is allowed and might be a better option for you.
