calm down bro. I didn’t say it was fair or not. That’s not my problem. They make the laws and we have to follow them. Believe me I know all about how it works. My wife is a US citizen. Don’t lecture me on immigration.
You think I am happy to put a large sun of money in a Thai bank? Of course not but that’s the rule, so it’s done. And I don’t bitch about it because that is wasted energy. Kind of like sending 5-6 text replies to my absolutely correct comment. 😂
I have a friend who was in a remarkably similar situation. He is American. Wife was born in Thailand but lived in America and was a citizen since childhood. She was now in her 40s/50s.
She went to Thailand with her US passport and did a visa exempt entry. While in Thailand took her Thai birth certificate and I believe she needed a family witness or two and was able to do exactly what you are trying to do.
One she has established her Thai citizenship again obviously she can come and go to both places as she pleases. As far as you, once she has her Thai status reestablished you can do a Non O visa based on marriage to a Thai.
00% correct. Absolutely drives me insane when someone asks the most simple direct question, I’m interested in the answer and I have to filter through 29 answers that are 100% irrelevant.
sorry I’ve been out. Yes you can report anywhere as long as your address is registered there. I started in Ubon and reported there, moved to Pattaya and reported there, then got a job in BKK and reported there. But my address was updated as I entered each new province. This week I moved back to Pattaya and reported here this time.
If you’re not reported it’s not gonna happen. I did mine yesterday the first thing she did is open my passport, find the address registration and go “Chonburi, ok.”
Reporting during the 12 month period is the same as all visa extensions. You have to report to immigration every 90 days to verify your address.
You’ll only need the insurance required by Thailand pass.
You can get re-entry permits at the airport or immigration offices. As long as you return before the expiration date of your extension you are good. If I remember correctly a single exit/re-entry is 1000 baht.
