You can take the overnight sleeper train from phetchaburi to penang besar the border town. From there you can take an other train to penang, if you wish to stay in Malaysia. It is well organised and very comfortable.

just been back to immigration today and got 60 days extention as of today and not when I handed forms is. I suppose it depends which immigration. I am so pleased

I did my covid extension and there is a new form where you can tick "REASON FOR STAY DUE TO COVID SITUATION IN MY COUNTRY " That worked fine. No problems
