yes, definetely go check, My immigration office told me to extend mine before it ran out.

But like everything, every immigration office does things differently to the others.

When does your 90 days finish?

Yes you can get 60 day extension from immigration.

You should go to immigration and ask wether you need to do the extension now or just before the amnesty ends.

You dont want your 90 days to run out and then not be able to get an extension.

Better to be safe.

thats the thing, you get the test 48 hours before you fly, then during the 2 days after the test you could get it. Then fly out to thailand.
