Has anybody been to do a non-o dependant visa (thai child) in vientiane lately? Or have the low-down on requirements.
A friend in nong khai is going tomorrow to apply.
I told him they are asking for bank statements.
Is this correct? (Recent reports say so)
I havent been to vientiane for a very long time, so i dont know if proof of funds is correct.
I thought he'd be best taking a copy of his bank book just incase anyway.
Is there a required amount needed?
Cheers
TLDR : Answer Summary
The current process for applying for a Non-O Dependent Visa in Vientiane may require proof of funds. Applicants are advised to demonstrate a minimum balance of THB 200,000 in a Thai bank account. Recent reports indicate that having bank statements or a bank book copy is recommended. While proof of funds is necessary, other requirements may include documentation such as a rental contract and, for certain visas, cover letters indicating specific details.
