What are the requirements for applying for a Non-O Dependent Visa for a Thai child in Vientiane?

Has anybody been to do a non-o dependant visa (thai child) in vientiane lately? Or have the low-down on requirements.

A friend in nong khai is going tomorrow to apply.

I told him they are asking for bank statements.

Is this correct? (Recent reports say so)

I havent been to vientiane for a very long time, so i dont know if proof of funds is correct.

I thought he'd be best taking a copy of his bank book just incase anyway.

Is there a required amount needed?

Suitable for apply Non B (only one in one full year), Non ED (most first timers have no problem, only one application from Language Schools in one full year , cover letter must only indicate your specific level & show bank balance THB 20,000.- & Rental Contract. As of now we can not confirm on how to do with second year applicants).

***OK for Non O Single Entry if married to Thai or support Thai Child (if back to back application, they will ask show money THB 200,000.- in Thai Bank Account).

For application Non O Volunteer first time OK(if back to back need guarantee letter from said Ministry equivalent to department level).

Tourist Visa, if you had previously some Tourist visas your application will be considered more carefully. Vientiane is now asking for proof of funds, Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up. Onward air ticket is not required, but prepare Rental Contract.

there are several reports of people applying for this visa based on dependent and already have this type of visa in their passports, to show proof of minimum 200.000 Thb in a Thai bank account.

cheers, will let him know. I believe its his first time getting that type of visa. But will tell him to take a statement just incase.
