Is it true that with this amnesty, that your overstay starts when your stamp finishes. But you dont get fined.

Lets say your last permitted to stay date finishes june 1st.

And you wait until july 31st to leave, it will be 2 months overstay but no fine?

This is what i have been told.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current amnesty in Thailand allows individuals with overstays to leave the country without fines if they exit by July 31, as long as their stamped date is after March 26. If someone has an overstay but leaves before this date, no fines will apply. However, if one overstays beyond July 31, the normal fines for overstaying come into effect.

Sorry
@Ja***
, :( what we're not gonna play is "what happens IF" and the question has anything to do with AFTER amnesty ends.

There has never BEEN an amnesty in thailand for people and this current one hasn't ended so no one knows how it's gonna run out.

How about we just say "don't overstay" and leave it at that?

At time you depart Thailand on or before July 31...stamped out and no fine. But will stop at two Thai Immigration desks.

Second desk is Overstay desk. But they enter Amnesty.
