I am in the process of extending my Non OA retirement visa which expires on Oct 31. Now I read that the insurance requirements have been increased to 3,000,000 bht....effectiveclast Tuesday. But it seems unclear if USA insurance will satisfy this requirement or only insurance from one of the 12 Thai companies as was the case in the past.

Is US insurance permitted and if so what proofs do they require?

Now I am scrambling with this last minute change in the rules...

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is looking for clarity on whether US health insurance meets the new requirement of 3,000,000 THB for Non OA retirement visas in Thailand, as there seems to be confusion regarding recent changes. There is some discussion among the community members suggesting that the new requirement hasn't been officially implemented yet, and therefore extending the existing insurance could be a viable option for now.

Absolutely not true. The 3M THB insurance requirement is only a plan, and has not been implemented yet.

My advice would be to extend your existing insurance policy BEFORE this new policy goes into effect.
