When should my O-A visa health insurance be valid if I apply early?

Gathering everything I need to apply for O-A

Planning to travel in early December.

The website says I have 90 days to get stamped in to Thailand, so all my required documents are ready except insurance certificate.

If I was to apply early, does the health insurance need to be valid at the time of application, or can it have a December start date?(And December flights)

I like to have things ready well ahead of time, but do not want to waste application fees by submitting incorrect documents, or only be stamped in for 10 months because I applied early and burned through 2 months o insurance when I was not in Thailand yet.

The health insurance for an O-A Visa must be valid at the time of application, as the visa is issued effective from that date. While you have up to 365 days to enter Thailand after your visa is issued, your insurance needs to cover that period starting from your initial application date. For optimal coverage, consider obtaining insurance valid for two years, beginning from the day you apply.

The website says I have 90 days to get stamped in to Thailand . . . that's WRONG. Actually you have 365 days starting from the day of issue, to enter Thailand. Of course you would not want to wait until the last day, but enter as early as possible near the issue date. You will get stamped in for 365 days - or maximum as long as the health insurance is valid until . . .applicants who wish to get the utmost of stay permit out of the O/A visa, naturally take up an insurance that is valid for two years plus 2-3 weeks, starting at the day you apply for the visa

You will not get the visa without the insurance.  Because the visa is valid as of the day it is issued, so you can enter Thailand that day. So your insurance must be valid to get the visa.

When you enter Thailand with a non-OA visa, you are stamped in for 1-year, or until the end of your insurance, whichever is less.
