Applying for non o visa from UK to get extension based on retirement after 60 days. However, when I get to the bottom of the form it’s asks for evidence of health insurance and foreign insurance certificate. I thought this was not needed for non o visa? Am I doing something wrong?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is applying for a Non-O visa based on retirement but is confused by the health insurance requirement mentioned in the application form. Comments reveal that health insurance is not needed for the Non-O visa but is required for the Non-OA visa. There is also clarification that the poster might be mistakenly applying for a long-stay Non-OA visa instead of the intended Non-O visa.

For retirement visa do once in Thailand start process on arrival …requirements less

Takes about 6-8 weeks so can get done before arrival stamp expires

You are not talking about a Non-O retirement visa (which is 90 days) but the subsequent 12 month extension of stay which many incorrectly refer to as the retirement visa

the problem with that method is the bank account opening. You need the bank account open before you can get the visa, without the visa you can’t open the account. Catch 22

I've ran into this same problem, I cannot deposit funds into a Thai bank to get my retirement visa but I cannot open a bank account with a tourist visa. Also the British embassy in Bangkok no longer provides notary services. So I'm looking for a local solicitor that can notarize my income to show I have enough funds for the retirement visa.

So far I haven't found anyone who can help.

, unfortunately, no one other than your embassy can notarise your income for your immigration/visa purpose. You need to get your visa outside Thailand to enter on it.

it’s crazy. I understand the banks tightening up but then immigration needs to change the requirements.

From the screen shot you are clearly not applying for a 90 day Non-O visa 🙁

You can see under purpose of visit it says "Long-stay (O-A) and that's not the 90 day Non-O 😮

Another tip off is that the Non-O visa is not available in multi-entry only single 🙂

you want THIS choice for the 90 day Non-O visa

great advice as usual. I did get a non o multi entry a few years ago. It’s seems the option comes and goes without reason.

@Stuart *******
it's not been an option since all the consulates went to eVisa online only applications. All you can get is 90 day single entry Non-O now no matter the reason you pick for it

That’s weird. I’ll check my passport when I get home although I know you are very knowledgable on the subject.

all consulates stopped year long multi entry non o visas when they switched to the online eVisa system which gives the visas as a PDF they email you.

There is no option in that web portal to select multiple entry.

If you got it a few years ago you most likely got a sticker visa from the consulate.
