Hi, I applied for a DTV from Mumbai, India. Received a 6 month multiple entry tourist visa instead? What does this mean? Can I reapply for a DTV while this visa is still valid?

I am coming from the US to Thailand and will get the senior retirement visa. Which is for one year I understand. Can I come and go and do a little traveling in the area out of the country within that one year visa. Or do I have to remain in Thailand the entire time?

Any advice on what visa option I should consider? I am married to a Thai lady. Marriage legally registered in Thailand. We visit Thailand about 3 times a year for about 60 days at a time. During that period we might visit a neighbor country for a week or two before going back to Thailand and then back home. We currently do it under visa exempt. No problems untill now. I however can see that we might run into problems in the future and want to prevent that. We don't want to stay permanently in Thailand but want to visit our family regularly and also visit other countries in the region. I belief there was a multiple non immigrant non O visa that give you 90 days on entry and valid for 1 year but understand that option is not available anymore. What will be the best visa option to consider? Thank you

So here it goes. I am planning a winter 5-6 month retreat to Thailand from December 2026 till May 2027. I suppose if I arrive in Thailand with an exit flight within the first 90 days and the reenter for the remainder of my last 90 days with a return ticket to my home country should be acceptable? My understanding is that the tourist visa allows for 60 days with a 30 day extension correct? Just want to make sure I have the right plan in place prior to booking flights etc. Thanks in advance to those who take the time to share their thoughts.

If you have a valid tourist visa they will reject your DTV. Just cost me thousands of dollars for flights.

EDIT: I used the full 60 days on my multi-entry visa already hence assuming it wouldn’t be valid. Also assumed my flights would be useless if I have to return to the USA to apply.

EDIT 2: thanks for the suggestions about applying in Vietnam. Seems a bit dubious for that to be considered a “residence” though. I guess if it works it works though.

Just approved for the workation dtv multiple entry from hcmc after 14 days! 😄(1 month seasoning period 2 million deposit from ledger)

5 days from submission I was asked for more documents eg 2 years tax filings proof of income,I could not provide tax filings as the airbnb company had not been active the duration of the 2 years, I would suggest you provide every piece of documentation you can find but also using ChatGPT to help you organise them that was the biggest help during my preparation

I think the biggest help was my balance exceeded the 500k by a long shot the funds was only deposited into a revolut account 1 month prior from my ledger account and I provided a paper trial for this and also statements of my remaining balance within the ledger.

So I'm in Thailand on a one year Retirement Visa. Multiple entries. Now I'm going out of the country for the first time. Are there any documents I need to show when I return to Bangkok? Or is it enough with the stamp in the passport?

Hello! I would like to live in Thailand during the coldest months in my country (October to February/March, so like 5-6 months) while still working (I’m a freelance translator) and I was wondering if I could do this with a DTV without much of a hassle. Would it be ok if I go back home and don’t come back for 6 months? Correct me if I’m wrong, but this would mean my 180 days is automatically refreshed when I come back. And I don’t need to file anything when I leave and come back, right?

Also, since it’s a multiple entry visa, I was wondering if, during those 6 months in Thailand, the following scenario is ok (valid and without extra paperwork) :

After 3 months, I go to China, for example, and re-enter after 1 week. My 180 days is refreshed and could spend 6 more months but only stay 3 more. Then I go home and re-re enter after 6 months.

Sorry if my questions seem obvious hahah, I might be overthinking but I’m not used to visas and long-term travel so I want to make sure I understand! Thanks!

METV

I’m on METV and about to leave the kingdom for 5 days. Do I have to buy any re-entry permit or I’m fine without on METV ?

Hi everyone, I have a multiple entry retirement visa that expires in 3 months. I have a Thai bank account because of this visa. I'm thinking of not renewing my retirement visa and live between Thailand and Bali so going back and forth can be achieved with tourist visas.

Question: Can my Thai bank account still be open to use without my Thai retirement visa? Or they will close it? Thanks
