TLDR : Answer Summary
For multiple entry into Thailand, consider obtaining a 6-month Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) from a Thai consulate before your trip. This visa permits unlimited entries, each allowing a 60-day stay. Your options may also vary based on your nationality; for instance, Canadian passport holders have choices including purchasing a multiple entry visa at the embassy or utilizing visa exempt entries, while keeping in mind the limitation of two land entries within a 12-month period.

Get a 6 month METV <- multi-entry tourist visa from the thai consulate in your country BEFORE you wing your way here.

That visa gives you unlimited entries for the 6 months it's valid for and each entry gets you stamped in for 60 days.

I guess it would depend on your nationality, length of your trip (each entry to Thailand and total trip), and your previous history traveling to Thailand.

It looks like you will be travelling on a Canadian passport? If so you have several options. The more rock solid one would be to purchase a multiple entry Thai visa at the Embassy in Ottawa. You will still need to purchase visas for the other countries you are visiting but I think you can do that at the boarder. A second option would be to do your Thai entries on a visa exempt entry. You might get a little more concern from Thai immigration but the only for sure rule is no more than 2 land entry visa exempt entries in a 12 month period. As always when entering Thailand have

baht in cash or the equal in say CAD, proof of onward travel, and proof of a place to stay.

I should mention you most likely will not be asked for proof of anything but you can be so best to be prepared.

No need for proof of a place to stay every night. The METV is good for six months from the time it is put in your passport. You can enter and leave as often as you like although each entry only gives you a 60 day stay as it seems you understand. Your return flight can be quite a ways out as some people enter the last time on day 59 and stretch things to almost 9 months. You show bank statements at the Embassy but cash only at immigration and you will not have access to an ATM before getting to immigration. I find it a pain to carry that much cash but it is what it is.
