Hi all, am a little confused in that I obtained a 60 day multiple entry visa to Thailand as I fly in and out of Bangkok from London, but am using Bangkok as a hub to also visit Nepal and either Laos or Cambodia. I assume I can just come and go 3 times on this visa as long as I dont stay longer than 60 days any time. However at border control the officer said I would need a re-entry permit. Is this correct seems to be a contradiction to the terms of a multiple entry visa?
Any experience/clarification welcomed

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question revolves around the confusion of needing a re-entry permit for a 60-day multiple entry visa when traveling from Thailand to nearby countries such as Nepal, Laos, or Cambodia. Responses clarify that there is no specific 60-day multiple entry visa; the visa is valid for multiple entries within six months. However, the border control officer's requirement for a re-entry permit before departure raises concerns. Members advise ensuring correct entry stamps and understanding that a re-entry permit is typically required when leaving Thailand on a multiple entry visa.
As long as you enter Thailand within your visa (PDF) is still valid, aka you enter Thailand again on or before the 14 Feb 2023, you should have no problem. Make sure you are stamped for the right length of days BEFORE you leave the passport control next time you enter Thailand.
BTW, you can enter Thailand as many times as you want (no limit) on METV during the visa is valid.
yes, and I said I would be going to Nepal. Which was when the border control person said I would need a re entry permit before I leave. It is this that has confused me.
there is no such thing as a 60 day multi-entry visa.
IF you applied for that visa from the thai consulate in London before you came here the PDF they emailed you would show it's a multiple entry visa and good for SIX months.
This is what my understanding was from the Thai embassy in London:
Multiple Entry Tourist Visa will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue. You must enter Thailand within the validity of visa. Travellers with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in Thailand not exceeding 60 days for each entry within the period of 6 months from the date of arrival in Thailand.
exactly, and thanks for replying. I understand the visa I have what I dont understans is why did the border control officer say I need a re entry permit?
