TLDR : Answer Summary
The METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) application may require you to indicate your first departure date within the initial 60 days for approval. You should demonstrate a genuine reason for needing the visa, such as proving travel plans to neighboring countries. The visa allows for multiple entries, but there's no guarantee of a 60-day stay each time you re-enter Thailand. Supporting documents, like a round-trip ticket, can help substantiate your claim for needing the METV.
"2) The METV online application states "you need to prove that you have a genuine reason to visit Thailand on a regular basis." Does this mean you may be granted the METV, but then are not guaranteed to get a 60 day stay each time you re-enter?
you need to show them WHY you need an METV, so make a round trip booking 60 days from the date you're arriving in thailand to singapore for a few days and use that as the "proof" you need a METV.
Most consulates IF you pay the 200 USD but don't get the METV issued will NOT refund you the difference when they issue you a 40 USD single entry visa"
AND I assume that you are showing your Flight โ๏ธ from your home country to Thailand in the METV multiple entry tourist visa application being made on-line using the Evisa online application system ... ???
And if you have a recent history of staying in Thailand using the METV multiple entry tourist visa with extensions back to back, be prepared for questions from Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand as they may think you are trying to live and work in Thailand without the correct Thai Visa.
