TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a 60-day visa to Thailand and inquires whether a one-way ticket from Thailand to Vietnam suffices for the visa requirements. The community responses indicate that as long as there is an exit ticket booked, it is generally acceptable. Some suggested using services like onwardticket.com for a valid ticket that can be booked temporarily. Additionally, users advised on the importance of having sufficient funds and dressing respectfully upon arrival, which can positively influence the immigration process.

Make sure you have the required funds and are dressed respectfully when you arrive at immigration at your destination in Thailand. It goes all whole lot faster and easier for you when the officer sees you respecting their culture and wearing clothes that cover your arms and legs, especially if they notice you are wearing clothed toed shoes. A lot of people don't realize this detail of how much respect you'll be receiving without even knowing it from the immigration officer well he's looking over your documents and making a decision to let you in or not.

Any ticket out of Thailand is okay. You don't have to go where you came from, just leave Thailand.

Or if that's just for the visa, use onwardticket.com its a real ticket booked for 48 hours so you can get the visa it cost me $14 , got my visa, boom

was this for 60 day..or multi entry?

Reason I inquire, since COVID and the implementation of the e-visa system ..it is very difficult to receive without of probing questions and "requests for more documents" (years prior to that one simply mailed in passport and it was returned with full page visa for the duration) ..currently it is almost as if you were requesting a "type O" or retirement visa..each national Embassy, though seems to have different requirements ..I deal with Canada.

60 day ,got mine through, but nobody looked at the visa print out , accommodation, money or anything when I came through in Bangkok ?!!

@Mart ******
if they did not register the 60 day ..then most likely you didn't initiate the actual visa..but rather gave you the usual visa exempt...does your stamp read 30 or 60 days??

I want the 60 day from the proper office in the city, not the 30 day from the border

I have not arrived at immigration yet. I plan to leave for malaysia tonight or tomorrow. I first wanted to try to get valuable information like this before and possibly doing the wrong thing. I've received this 60-day Visa many times in the past but it's been I think 4 years since I've had to live on a tourist visa. From your response it sounds like there's a different protocol than I experienced in the past. What do you mean the 60 day needs to be registered in advance?

The process I had to go through in the past was me just arriving to Penang can the Visa office there would handle everything for you at the immigration office. All we needed to do was give him the passport fill in the application and pay him the required price, and two and a half days later he returns with everything proper and we left for Thailand that night.

yeah they stamped 60 days but didn't ask for anything at Bangkok which is odd huh?

@Mart ******
may I ask you how long ago this workout for you? Because I need to get mine very soon and would feel more confident knowing this recently worked out for you and you also returned at the Bangkok airport, because I was nervous about returning through Bangkok compared to other airport options. Thank you

The E-Visa is hit and miss nightmare.Second yr in a row after applying weeks ahead I have to rebook my flight.1yr application kept asking for documents already sent and when trying to confirm when I would be receiving the E-Visa via email/phone calls,no response from emails ,phone call’s response was it’s in process DO NOT CALL AGAIN.Also even though your visa clearly shows address of residence you are staying plus letter of invite ,one still has to do a TM30 ( WHY???)Just called Nov 27 two days prior to departure (Nov 29th)to inquire my visa status was told my Visa was in process and that Dec 1 it will have use the full application time allotted and I should receive via email.When requested could it not be sent that day(Nov 27)was informed no Rebook your flight.Just not good enough.Prior to Covid I would go to the Thailand Consulate in Toronto 11am drop off my (passport-application-flight itinerary-$ visa fee)I would then return 24 hrs later Visa completed Thanks very much.Consulate no closed also option of mailing passport to Ottawa Embbasy not allowed anymore.It’s jut not good enough.

i cam in from Turkey UK citizen one way and never got asked any questions at all, flew into BKK

yes...usually..just had one out of Canada. It is the airline who control it, andf you are not likely to hear about it again. What happens at entry in BKK is up to you if you should purchase a 2 month visa, dependent on whether or not you use visa as issued on arrival (which can be extended) or enter as visa exempt and initiate it later.

Only an opinion, though..the moderators here have a vast amount of experience..
