Hey everyone, so I was looking at flights last night from our home country to Spain. We plan to stay long term, applying for relevant visas when we get there (student visas, guardians visas, etc) my question is. Can we book a one way flight or will we have to show a return flight on arrival? Does it have to be a return flight or can we just show onward travel out of Thailand in which case book a cheap bus out or something? Thank you muchly x

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquired about booking flights to Thailand for a long-term stay while applying for various visas. The main concern is whether a one-way ticket is sufficient or if a return flight is necessary upon arrival. Comments suggest that while it might be acceptable to arrive with a one-way ticket, there could be issues with boarding the flight initially without a return ticket. It is also recommended to apply for a visa at least a week prior to travel.
Apply for a Visa at least a week before departure at the Thai Embassy or Consulate in Spain. Visa are sold by Embassy/Consulate and they don't have them inside Thailand.
It's extremely rare to show return flights when entering Thailand, your main problem could be boarding the flight in Spain without the correct travel docs/visas
So we should apply for our daughters student visa here? But how do we open a Thai account without being in Thailand ? I was under the impression we get our tourist visa thing here and do the student etc when we get there
