TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus is that you can submit a one-way flight from the USA to Bangkok along with an onward ticket when applying for a Thailand tourist visa (TR visa). While pre-pandemic guidelines allowed this, the situation may vary now due to changes imposed by airlines or regulations. Some applicants have successfully done this, but it's recommended to check with your airline regarding their acceptance of one-way tickets. Additionally, one comment noted that while you may be asked to upload several supporting documents, only the essential ones for a tourist visa may be necessary.
Is it really necessary to upload all 13 support documents for a simple tr visa. Do they really need financial evidence and ASQ hotel reservation confirmation and a picture of me holding my passport, some of this seems a little excessive. I'm sure this question has been asked but does anyone have a simple list of what documents they actually provided.
the questionnaire/form is generic for all visa types, so lots of items don't apply to a simple tourist visa. Use your best judgement, submit, and see if they require more.
It’s up to the airlines on whether or not they accept you as a traveler on a one way ticket…some people used to book cheap Air Asia or other low cost airlines to show onward travel to get around the one way ticket fiasco…good luck
