Be very careful and scrutinize thoroughly the agents you work with if you choose not to spend your own time completing your visa docs.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion emphasizes the importance of caution when selecting visa agents in Thailand, as there are significant risks involved including potential scams and issues with visa validity. Users recount their experiences, noting recent concerns about certain agencies, discussions about their legitimacy, and cautionary advice to always follow agents to immigration offices. The conversation reflects on the broader implications of dealing with ineffective bureaucratic systems and the occasional acceptance of rule-breaking in the local context.

Ah well, it gives me a bit of a headache when I saw it as my passport is with them..but will see the outcome, just staying calm and keep living the dream...I'm sure they will sort it out.

Just a update on my case, received passport with valid REAL visa! In my eyes every bath worth it

@Steve *******
I presume you have tried to contact them today? What are they saying? Nice name by the way
Steve ********
@Steven ***************
I didn't contact them as I don't want to bother them around at this time, I just followed up their post, I personally think there are a lot of fake news about this case. I have a friend and she's with them several years and never had any issues. I went to their office to drop my documents and the payment about 3 weeks ago and they seemed very professional, not dodgy at all. So I guess just wait a few days for the dust to settle and than give them a call... In this country everything is possible..

Gary *************
I had considered using them a few years ago but decided not to since their price was way to high plus when they said I did not need any back up documentation just my passport, I thought then that there was something not right. Glad I did not use them

The visa system is so stuck in the dark age... .all you need to be given is a unique number.....give immigration any details they wont they load it on the computer....you are now in there system....just go to immigration...say i wont 60 extension ..cost what ever....give your number...you get your stamp.....why all this bloody paper time and time again....
Kevin *****
@Graham ********
unfortunately that seems to be an issue, not just for immigration. I have had my fingerprints and details done twice at exactly the same desk in the police headquarters, second time my record only had 9 prints because I had cut a finger on a seat bracket in the waiting room. Since they already had me on the system it seems pointless. A bit like the photos at immigration, they want x amount of photos and what do they do before they give you your extension? They take your photo EVERY TIME YOU GO THERE! I reckon their computers are running DOS 3.1 so they can't store anything for more than a week๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

@Kevin ****
must be something special just for you, did my yearly extension and no fingerprints and no photo was taken. oh btw I just paid the 1900 baht and all was done in an hour

Why are you lying in your "Rule-breaking being acceptable here" comment, then? I know that you know that Kimberli's post was hyperbole but factual in essence, but you went full berserk on her, why? Rule-breaking IS indeed acceptable in Thailand, as long as you have money. Acceptable does not mean legal, it mean that it is legitimate. Some examples here: Agents (Visas), black market for lottery, Cockfight, underground casino, and other stuff like not going to jail if you can pay your way out for lesser crimes, or paying the cop a bit if you drive while drunk instead of being arrested. All of this is illegal but tolerated in Thailand, as long as money is involved.
Alan *******
I think some of the smartass replies are ugly, is it really necessary to laugh and wallow in other people's misery?

Rule breaking is acceptable here as long as you do not get caught. Not different from anywhere else in the world, if you get caught you are screwed.
Kimberly ************
@Roy **********
that's true, and sooo many do not. Or, you can be doing all the right things in the right way and still be screwed here too. Corrupt as f...

grumpy old expats waiting on their keyboards all day to argue about something on facebook hehe pretty standard. After a lot of research, the agency had absolutely no sign of being scammy and they have been running for years with tons of customers, but by reading some comments here, it seems like I had to predict that the owner was selling weed and making fake stamps. Anyway good thing you didn't go with them, the timing was right for you!
Kimberly ************
@Martin *************
hi! So it looks like TVC has been 'cleared'... And with a lot of support from the expat community who have been using them for years. Hope you got your visa!

We all know what she means tod, and yes rules here don't seem to matter if you have money to make them go away. Everybody knows Thailand is corrupt. Its no secret

Here's what they sent to all of their visa customers today:

Please do not be concerned about what has been spreading in the news.

Immigration has already checked all of our visas, and concluded that they are NOT fake. So please don't be concerned, all of the statements in the news are "alleged".

Our former staff member Grace, had a problem 5 years ago, and this caused immigration to inspect her, and they found that she was growing weed for research, with technology. For purpose of medicinal treatment.If you truly worry you may check with your local immigration to confirm that your visa is on the system. But please be aware that EVERY visa we have assisted with is on the system is done through immigration.

If you are still concerned, and we are currently processing your visa, and wish to cancel the process please contact us via LINE. We always support all customers the best we can.
Kim ******
@Steve ******
lmao can't make that shit up. Growing weed for research purposes ๐Ÿ˜‚

Eric Thomasz whats your question.

and you didn't think that giving your passport and a pile of money to someone who would take it to a province you don't live in, to get a visa/extension from an immigration office that you don't use, for a reason you can't meet the financial requirements for wasn't strange? I mean it didn't raise any alarm bells?

@Martin *************
wow, hope you get it back. I checked them out as well, and had long chats, was going to do the same! So glad I didn't. Wish you luck. And don't listen to the 'scoldy' tones on here... It's Thailand and most ppl have done something through a back door, or had to pay a bribe etc... Rule breaking is acceptable here.
Maxim ***********
Kimberly is right, rules breaking IS indeed acceptable in Thailand, as long as you have the cash. Let's not forget that Tod has contacts at immigration, he cannot admit that kind of stuff publicly. Whether it's underground casinos in Bangkok, black market lottery, animal fighting, or visa agent, as long as everyone is getting their cut, it is acceptable, doesn't mean that it's legal or right.
Kimberly ************
@Tod ********
why so nasty? Take a rest man. And BTW, I remember you in trouble last year on some forum because you were denied entry at some point... Trying to get over landborder troubles... I don't care to remember the details, only you reached out online and nobody told you that you must have been dropped on your head. It's very offensive.

@Tod ********
OK Tod, have a nice day.

Steven ****************
I think Tod always tells people to be careful when using agents. More so that for future visas if they see stamps have come from certain offices it may not be good for renewals but this is obviously a risk of giving someone cash to go and sort out a visa on your behalf
