Hi All,

Another marriage visa question:

Immigration says I need a document from my embassy that verifies that I have an income of at least B40k per month.

Is there a special Thai form for this? Or must it be in a special format, have a special text?

Thanks much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To verify your income for a Thai marriage visa, you will need to obtain an income affidavit from your embassy. However, there's no standard Thai form for this, as the requirements can vary by embassy. It's essential to contact your embassy directly for their specific document and any particular format they may require. Additionally, it's worth noting that some embassies, like those of the United States, United Kingdom, or Australia, may have stopped issuing income affidavits since the end of 2018, so alternative proof of income, such as bank transfers, may be necessary.

how about stating your nationality so we can tell you IF your embassy here actually issues an affidavit of income from abroad.

Just to clue you in IF you're american, brit or auzzie, those consulates here stopped issuing the income affidavit at the end of 2018. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

What that means is you have no other way to show monthly income other than tranferring IN from abroad to a thai bank account in your name only a minimum of 40K baht a month each month every month for the previous year

Thanks much! Unfortunately I have the American consulate to deal with. Which means no verification letter at all, as you said. What a pain in the neck...

that means in order for you to get a Non-O visa here based on marriage and then the yearly extension of stay after that you need to bank the 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only

You will contact your embassy, and ask them for the document. Different embassies have different documents, and are called different things based on local language.

It is an Income affidavit from your Embassy, the exact name is set by your Government and there is no standard Thai form.
