Hi all, looking for recommendations for a good tax accountant in Phuket (chalong) area if possible.

Will be changing my residency from Australian to Thailand for taxes and also have a company in Hong Kong where i currently get paid.

Ideal accountant would be across these expat situations, up to date with latest changes vs latest rumours and good english would be great as I'll have a lot of questions. Doesn't need to be the cheapest accountant, just a good one.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking recommendations for a knowledgeable tax accountant in the Chalong area of Phuket, who understands the complexities of expat tax situations, particularly in relation to changing residency from Australia to Thailand. They emphasize the need for someone up-to-date on tax regulations and fluent in English, as they will have many inquiries. Several comments discuss the potential for remote consultations, whether the user will relinquish Australian citizenship, and implications of earning income from Hong Kong.

I earn in HK so won't pay taxes in AU. Im only a contractor for an AU company. I will pay myself a salary here but want to do it in the most efficient way

just resident of Thailand. Would never give up my AUS citizenship.

Just trying to do the right thing re: taxes as its not always easy to know what information is correct by researching yourself

if you earn in Australia you’ll still pay taxes in Australia wouldn’t you being a tax resident is anyone staying 180 days or more has nothing to do with an actual resident

Why restrict to Phuket? Most advice can be given remotely and can have ZOOM meetings.

good point. I do generally like to go into the office and see the setup and get a feel for it all which is where my original Phuket request comes from

mate most tax accountants here know the tax rules.....Aust. has a DTA With Thailand so you will be taxed there. Now where does your Hong Kong Dollars go? Thailand or Australia? What Visa do you have here? Who long in a continuous period to you stay here.? Does Hong Kong have a DTA with Thailand? So I know what you asked but there are lots of questions. Now I received advice with an Aussie accountant and Thai one here in Bangkok and both gave me the same advice. Also your residency is in Australia but that wasn't clear to me

My tax liability is in Australia.

So use Google maps find a couple of Tax accountants in Phuket and give them a call. Its really that simple. Oh why didn't you post on a phuket fb page too?
