What should I do after changing my address in Thailand regarding my visa and banking issues?

Kind of visa related. Anyone get this in their early morning notifications? I may have triggered it lol. I changed my address at AIS and on my BB app yesterday. Moved to a new condo. Have lease with owners passport and blue book. I have all my visa stuff and TM30 up to date through the end of August at my current place. I think I may have jumped the gun by changing the address myself lol. Thoughts? Do I need any other paperwork. I was in process of info gathering regards opening another bank account because of some of the potential problems with Bangkok bank and agent used visa accruals? Appreciate any advice on dealing with that message. Sorry for my rambling. If this has been addressed ad nauseum just ignore me. Thanks to all you happy thailanders. ๐Ÿ˜Š

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around concerns and advice regarding recent notifications received about account status after changing addresses with AIS. Users share experiences about needing to ensure that personal details match across platforms (AIS and Bangkok Bank) to avoid account freezes. They suggest necessary documents to bring to the bank, such as proof of address from the telecom provider and the importance of account validation. There is wide concern regarding new banking policies affecting account accessibility, especially for expats in Thailand.

I don't think this is about sim cards, they are now checking that you have the right visa.

that's false information. I got a bank account many months ago on Visa exempt with the help of an agent. I still had a Visa exempt now and had to go to the bank for phone verification with no problems. I have a non O visa now and still have the same bank account

wait and see what happens ๐Ÿ˜‰ there are plenty of other posts in FB verifying what I said, if you have the right visa there's no problem.

Now this is scary. People change visas all the time. I have a Thai wife, children who have Thai nationality and we have a house in Thailand. What happens if I don't have a marriage visa or dependants visa because an old visa lapsed and i don't need the proper visa because i am just visiting Thailand and visa exempt is sufficient for my visit?

then they close your account, unfortunately, because you can't show you have a qualifying visa for maintaining the account. I've read at least 100 posts in the past few weeks, and it seems the only exception is for people who own a condo or property in their own name (not spouse's name).

Buy a secure cash box, transfer, withdraw and keep the cash.

Go to AIS with your phone and your sim and your passport they will give you a receipt showing your phone number your passport number and your registered name then you take that to Bangkok Bank and make sure that everything syncs. They also want to see the confirmation SMS

they sent messages to friends that did this in July. ๐Ÿคท

According to my visa agent, they sent out 40,000 of those messages last night. I went to my bank today and there must have been been 40 people waiting

glad I have 30 days. Maybe ill wait a few days for the influx. Thankfully I have wise and other options for cash so not too scary. I only have a small amount in there currently as all my larger monthly bills have already been paid. Im thankful they did this in middle of the month and not after my big monthly deposit lol

Many people received the same message today, including myself. Preparing myself mentally and a bunch of paperwork to try to avoid having the account closed. They are starting to close many accounts right now with their new policies

They are freezing accounts until they are approved by main office. If you need cash immediately, I recommend you make a withdrawal before going in. Mine is frozen for two weeks. Fortunately, I'm going to Laos and took out money for my trip. One guy this morning was going to Dubai and they wanted to freeze his account. His only option was to close his account. He wasn't happy.

If you are in Thailand now

You will need

A statement from your Telco

Showing that they have your address & passport .

Take it to the BKK bank branch -

They will take a current photo of you & that should suffice

The "normal" thing here is that your name match on your AIS and Bankok bank are different or the AIS account has not been verified. Just take your documents into your branch and they should release it. By the way do you go into your local bank regularly?
