Can I travel to Thailand for 60 days without a visa while also visiting Vietnam and Bali?

My plan was to go to Thailand at the end of February and then to Vietnam and Bali from mid of March to mid of April. Before going back to Sweden spend a few days in Bangkok. All in less than 60 days.

But now, after reading about ETA, I have been really confused. There are so many contradictions when trying to find out whatโ€™s right.

Can I do this without problems? Boarder crossings will be by air. Fights to and from Stockholm probably with Thai airways.

Iโ€™ve already asked the Thai embassy in Stockholm but they passed me on to Immigration. I guess you are giving me a quicker answer.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster plans to visit Thailand, Vietnam, and Bali within 60 days and is confused about visa requirements, especially regarding a possible ETA for Thailand. Multiple comments clarify that as of now, travelers can enter Thailand for 60 days without a visa, and the ETA is not implemented yet, causing confusion among travelers.

Forget about the ETA as it's been postponed indefinitely...wait for official Thailand government information and ignore old information on the internet....

Make sure you check your visa requirements for Vietnam BEFORE you travel

Ok can somebody briefly explain to me what is eta and why it seems to scare everyone?

Electronic Travel Authorization..

When it's finally implemented it's going to be an app or website for you to advise Thailand immigration of your visit in the near future..

Name, passport number, dates etc ....

Countries like Singapore and the Philippines already have an ETA in place so it's not a new idea..

The USA has had a similar system in place for years for foreign visitors..

It's a way to screen visitors before they arrive and reduce the number of turn backs at the border who may have criminal records or overstay history in Thailand...

If your ETA isn't approved then don't bother going to Thailand and the airlines are likely to check ETA approval before you board the flight.

No E-TA ๐Ÿ‘Œ

You can enter Thailand for 60 days with no visa. All clearly stated on Thai embassy page. As yet, there is no E-TA.

@Lynnette ******
. I know that but what about double entry in those 60 days.
Lynnette *******
@Elisabeth ***********
it says up to 60 days ON ENTRY. If you leave at any point then you aren't in Thailand, and if come back you've "entered" again. It's a new entry.

thank you, then I can stick to my plans.

every entry is 60 days with no visa. But bear in mind it's up to the immigration officer if he's happy you're just a tourist.

There is no ETA, not even an announcement as to when it will be implemented in the future.

The hundreds of posts that we received in all the Thailand travel FB pages already prove that their premature announcement of the ETA was a disaster.

No one knows if or when the ETA will be implemented

It's when, not if. At 300 baht a pop, that's millions of baht flowing into government coffers!
Lynnette *******
@Andy ***********
and? USA has done that for years. Europe has similar for UK citizens and UK has introduced one too. You're worried about 300 going to Thailand but it's ok for others. If it's too much to pay, look for countries that don't do this.

You stupid bat. Where was I complaining? I stated a fact. I'm on non-O so it doesn't apply to me. I sometimes think you people trawl these forums looking for someone to take your pent-up frustrations out on! Jesus
Lynnette *******
@Andy ***********
my goodness. So abusive. You write a post about Thailand getting "300baht a pop" and filling their coffers. . . As if it's unique or. It isn't. Several countries already do that.
Andy ************
@Lynnette ******
I didn't say other countries don't do it. This group is about THAILAND. I never said anything negative about it. You're a typical internet troll who likes to attack people over nothing. I stated a FACT. You're obviously frustrated over something, I can guess what ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Andy ***********
oh dear. I didn't attack you. . How silly. What an angry person you are. ๐Ÿ˜†
