Will I be refused entry to Thailand if I have visited multiple times on a visa-exempt basis?

I think should be ok but wouldn’t mind having my mind put at ease

Went to Thailand twice towards the end of last year on a British passport using the (what was) 60 day visa free entry, both trips were roughly 50 days each. Am going again for Songkran, this time for 3 weeks

Is there any chance they might refuse me entry? I have heard it all depends on the immigration officer you get on the day

TLDR : Answer Summary
The chances of being refused entry into Thailand on a British passport after multiple visa-free visits are low, as long as you have the appropriate documentation. Visitors are advised to carry proof of funds, onward travel, and accommodation to ease any potential concerns from immigration officers. Experiences from others indicate that entry is typically granted with these proofs, and warnings are given before any punitive measures are taken.

They tend to provide a polite warning first, unless abuse is clear and obvious - the ETA can’t come soon enough will put people’s minds at rest before they travel and eliminate all the so called “scaremongering”
Bri *****
Doubtful they encourage tourists try not to read too much into all the scaremongering on these sites. It’s horrific some days and so much false information

@Bri ****
what exactly is false? The first hand reports of people getting pulled up and interrogated? Because that's 100% happening. As well as people being denied entry. Is it happening to everyone? Of course not. But not everyone is trying to return to Thailand after spending 6 months there already either. It's obvious who is at risk and they know it too.

@Bra****
no where is this evidence being produced and if FB is your oracle for these facts we have a big problem
Brandon ************
@Bri ****
I've had personal conversations in DMs with people that have had this happen to them, or as it is happening to them. You can ask Tod Daniels from the other Thai visa group who is far more of an expert than I am. He deals with this way more. Dozens of people are being denied entry daily.
Bri *****
@Bra****
just according to Thai Immigration this isn’t happening so watch this space I suppose
Brandon ************
@Bri ****
People have literally posted photos of them in the holding room at the airport waiting for their exit flight. Thai immigration is saying what? They don't say anything about this. They are just doing their job
Bri *****
@Bra****
ok ok never seen a single photo yet why so aggressive
Brandon ************
@Bri ****
Because you are giving advice that could cost people thousands of dollars and a lot of grief. Better to be safe and plan for the worst, than be careless and it cost you a lot of time, and money
Bri *****
@Bra****
I’m not giving any advice at all I’ve asked for evidence and you are providing nothing at all. So go away and leave me alone.

You don't always know the full details of these "first hand reports". A fair few are economical with the actualite, some are just made up for effect. Yes, there is much scare mongering.
Brandon ************
@Andy *********
isn't it better to be cautious then to be denied entry and have to spend $2000 on an immediate ticket?
Andy **********
@Brandon ***********
I don't disagree. But for those being taken aside, some will be wrong 'uns. Who goes on holiday not knowing when they go back to the day job?
KC ****
That’s what I plan to do this year. 2 to 3 visits on tourist exemption
Ian *******
Two occasionally three visits per year for last 14 years all 15-21 day trips from UK all on the
*****
day visa exempt. Return flights booked never a single issue. As Brandon says if you have the above you should sail through.
Michael *******
Your profile indicates you are a genuine tourist, so never going to be any issues….

@Ian ******
I thought they went by the calendar year

@J *************
never had issue, they have all been holidays and 3 weeks max.
Todd *********
No problem.
Brandon ************
Refused entry is unlikely. Even if they are not happy with your visit, they'll usually give you a warning first.

If you are worried, just make sure you have the 3 proofs that they can ask for of a tourist:

1) Proof of funds (20,000 baht or equivalent in another major currency IN CASH ONLY)

2) Proof of onward travel (a ticket out of Thailand within 60 days)

3) Proof of lodging (at least a few nights hotel reservation)

Sounds like you would already have the proof of onward travel if you only plan to stay for 3 weeks.
