Just completed my 60 day extension based on family/marriage at Chiang Mai Immigration. Was excellent service, the officer (women) was exceptional there. Kind, informative and smart. She told me to come backk closer to the end of my covid visa (expiration) to get more time. The day you apply is when the 60 days start (change of visa).

Needed:

-TM30

-Passport copies (info page, tm6, thai visas)

-Copy of wife's ID card and house book (tambien baan)

-Passport style Photo 4cmร—6cm

-Copy of Marriage certificate and yearly up (**edit: only need original marriage certificates, no need to update)to date page kor 2 or 3 they call it.

That's it.

No family photos, no lease contract, no other miscellaneous documents. Definitely the best option for short extensions when married to a thai citizen.

and I believe on that note we're done. Again, job well done hashing out how/when you need to do your 60 day visit family extension in Chiang Mai.

As
@Tony *******
correctly pointed out (y) ,
@Steven ******
it's best to keep that 60 day visit thai family extension for emergency use because you can only use it ONE time per entry.

Glad you got it, glad they told you to apply closer to the date your current stamp runs out so you don't lose a bunch of days switching reasons for your extension (y)

, do you use the same immigration office; Chiang Mai Immigration as the O/P in this thread?

If you're NOT in Chiang Mai using that office the documents required are not going to be all that helpful to you. Go to your immigration office and get the hand out that tells you what you need to apply for that extension

@Sako ****************
you apply for the 60 day visit thai family extension BEFORE the 90 day entry stamp expires (or before the covid extension you got from that entry stamp does)
Tod *********
@Sako ****************
you need to FIRST apply for a 90 day non-O visa based on raising half thai children

you can't get a one year extension straight from a 60 day visit family extension.

Well done .Best to keep for emergency only
