Request to the moderators for an indirect visa question.
I visited Lak Si district office Bangkok today to register my marriage to a Thai national.
We had a Christian/Buddhist ceremony previously and wanted to register it to enable me to apply for a Non O visa based on marriage.
(I'm aware of the financial requirements for the actual visa application).
I obtained all the necessary docs from embassy and MFA stamps .
When I arrived I was told I must provide proof of earning to actually marry a Thai national. Basically if you don't have proof of income, no registration.
I was quite surprised at this.
I can provide proof of funds, but didn't know it was needed to just get married.
I may have overlooked this when checking what is needed. U.K. passport holder.
Is this a general requirement or a individual office requirement?
Advice really appreciated.
