TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses options for Russian nationals seeking long-stay visas for Thailand, focusing on alternatives such as the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV), the Education (ED) visa through language schools, and the Thai Elite Visa. The conversation highlights the issues Russians may face in obtaining necessary documents for visas in Russia and emphasizes that they are not limited to standard visa restrictions, allowing for potential extended stays by bouncing back in and out of the country. Community members offer insights and personal experiences regarding the best strategies for visa applications.
Russianz are NOT limited to TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land like most people and in theory can bounce out and back in as much as they want.
I'd say the best choice offered out would be for you to get a 6 month METV <- multi-entry tourist visa from the thai consulate in Russia BEFORE you come here.
Now, if you're already here you can go to a thai consulate in a neighboring country and get a single entry tourist visa. That will stamp you in for 60 days
you should be able to get a single entry tourist visa in Russia before you come here.
Remember Russians cannot get 30 day extensions on 30 day visa exempt entries like other nationalities can. You can only get a 7 day extension to leave the country.
