TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a two-month tourist visa and is seeking advice on how to obtain a long-term visa to stay in Chiang Mai. Comments suggest exploring options based on age and marital status, with recommendations for a multiple entry tourist visa (METV) or an education visa, as well as a link to the Thai Elite Visa for extended stays.

are you over 50, are you married to a thai, do you legally work here? If not I'd say you could get a 6 month METV from a thai consulate in your country, OR you can look into an education visa for studying.

, I understand how Non-O visas for the purpose of volunteering work. I meant keep your advice on "a legal way" on the group so we can all participate in the conversation.

No offense but with over 19K member we have no idea if you know what you're talkin' about or not.

Thank you for your cooperation (y) .
