Arrived in Thailand recently on a Non-O retirement visa and opened bank accounts (no agents). Unfortunately I have to now leave Thailand and will return next June to retire so will do new Non-O then. My question is around my bank accounts (KBank and Krungsri) - if I leave dormant with a small balance do I need to worry they’ll be closed? Also when I return I am assuming that they will be happy with the new Non-O if they haven’t closed the accounts - does that sound reasonable?
Thinking of cutting out the middle man and just sending the monthly money to my wife. I have a lump sum for visa extension purposes. Anyone know how long a bank account can remain dormant before being closed/locked by the bank?
I opened a bank account with Bangkok Bank using an agent just over 12 months ago whilst on holiday … Ive deposited money into my account just recently from my home country ( England) . I’ve checked my app and the money has gone in .
So the question is
Will a bank account except money if it is locked?
Or if it is excepting money it mustn’t be locked ?
I return to Thailand in October .. when I try to use my account whist being in Thailand , will it automatically lock ? Or I’m I going to be lucky ?
