As my previous post was turned off before a conclusive answer, I have had to open up another post to answer the second part of my original Q

How do I carry out a 90 day report if as a U.K. Citizen I need to submit my 'old' passport for renewal ?

TIA again.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing your passport as a U.K. citizen, you have a 21-day window to complete your 90-day report. You can submit the report using your current passport details and then proceed to apply for your new passport. Alternatively, you can write down your old passport details on paper and store them for reference if your new passport takes longer than expected.

There is a 21 day window to do a 90 day report, make the report and after you typed in the details, you go and apply for a new passport.

Or you write down your passport details on a piece of paper, store that in a drawer and apply for a new passport. In case your new passport took more then 90 days, you take the paper out of the drawer and use it to fill in the 90 day report.
