What about leaving Thailand with a passport and entering with a new passport but with a re-entry permit stamped on old passport?...I know that I/we will have to show both passports to the IO but can I/we write the re-entry permit number into the "visa Number" space on the TDAC even if the passport number is different?

The visa number is not a required field, since visa exempt entries exist. I just filled one out and it was accepted. I have a 1 year non-o extension and left the visa field empty, along with all the departure date and details.

yes, that is the main point of my post as in the old times with the TM 6 paper form I/we filled the visa Number space with the re-entry permit number....but now with a new passport filling the visa Number space with the re-entry permit stamped/ linked on the old passport would maybe create confusion in this new TDAC system.

So I/we will leave that space empty. Thanks all 🙏

You have to show both passport and than transfer your extension of visa and the re-enrty stamp at immigration office of your initial stamp to transfer to your new passport.

If you're talking about renewing a passport while you're out of the country, when you come back you present both passports. The officer will stamp you in on the new passport and make a notation that your visa/extension re-entry permit is in the old passport

Then you go to your immigration office where you got the extension and get the stamps transferred

However if you're a person who holds passports from different countries you can't swap passports w/extension re-entry when you enter. You have to enter on the passport with the extension/re-entry stamps in it

Use the new passport number for the TDAC and don't write anything in the visa number (it's not a required field) just leave it blank

hi tod. When we got our retirement visas a year ago my husband who is south African had to have a police clearance done.... Question does he have to do that again when our visa is up for renewal. Thx for your help.
