Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the process of renewing an Australian passport that is not set to expire until 2026, while the individual is currently on a retirement visa in Thailand. Several commenters offer suggestions on the renewal process, including downloading the form, submitting required documents to the embassy, and transferring immigration stamps. Some comments question the necessity of renewing a passport with time left until expiration, citing reasons like frequent travel and lack of page space as potential motives.

It's July 2024. Why renew a passport that expires in 2026? It doesn't make sense.

no worries mate, it's pretty straightforward.Mary ********
Once you get your new passport you will need to take it to immigration to transfer your visa into it. You keep the old passport the form just needs the number so take the old and new passport to immigration
