British Passport Renewal - in Chiang Mai (Hope OK to ask here).

I've already emailed VFSglobal and awaiting appointment date.

For anyone who has recently done this, could you outline the steps, please? Do I need a digital photo code? Do I need proof of address?

Step 1: photocopy all pages of Passport (including unused pages) <-- is two pages per photocopy ok?

Step 2: Passport Photos (do I also need a digital code version? )

Step 3: ???

Can someone break it down into steps? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To renew a British passport in Chiang Mai, it's necessary to follow a step-by-step process that includes the following: 1. Email VFS Global to set up an appointment for the renewal. 2. Prepare documents including photocopies of all passport pages, including blank ones. 3. Obtain passport photos – confirm if you need a digital code version. 4. Attend the appointment with your old passport, the filled-out renewal form, and the required fees. 5. During the appointment, they will inspect your old passport, give it back, and review your submitted documents. 6. After payment, you will receive forms for Thai immigration, which you'll also need to fill out. Keep in mind that you may need additional financial documentation, such as bank statements.

Ok I've had to do this in Bangkok

Once you have a appointment for the new passport

Take the old one with you and the money with the form

They will take the old passport look it over and give it back to you then they will look over the passport form you have filled in you will have to pay them now and then wait for another appointment to get the new passport, they will then take the old passport off you and cut a corner of the passport and then you will receive a form from them for the thai immigration office, you will also need a form from the thai immigration office to fill in

So you will need 2 forms to fill

You will need two copies of your passport one for the old and one for the new passport

Now be warned that they may ask you for your bank books and then a full bank statement for the year that happened to me I have a retirement visa so be careful

so you have finally got the form and filled it in you don't need anything but the old passport for them to see and the money to pay for the new passport, and you can take the lease agreement with you
