Hello everyone,

I applied for the DTV visa in Jakarta on May 25, and today marks the 10th day since submission.

So far, I haven’t received any updates—no request for additional documents or communication of any kind.

I would like to ask:

Why might it be taking longer than expected?

How many more days should I expect to wait, approximately?

Has anyone received visa approval in early June already?

Thank you in advance for any information shared.

- Changed status from “Pending Document Check” to “Pending Approval” on 2nd June 2025 (Monday)

- Got Visa Approval on 4th June 2025

Total processing time = 2 Business Days

*Please ensure that all required documents are thoroughly prepared before submission. There is no need to rush the process, as the embassy does not strictly count processing days. Instead, they aim to issue a decision as quickly as possible once a complete and well-organized application is received. Including any additional documents that may support your case can also help facilitate a faster approval.*

We're intending to apply for the DTV and then rent a house in Chiang Mai for a few years (kids will attend a private coop group). I understand we need to border hop every six months but I want to know is it necessary to go to different airports so it doesn't look like we're trying to be permanent residents?

We won't stay longer than five years but when I think about it we're not necessarily 'tourists'. Thanks

Bangkok Bank update:

I have had this account for several years, initially opened on a tourist visa.

Because of all the confusion about accounts getting closed I visited the local branch today for peace of mind.

They said no problem with older accounts.

For these they look at cash flow to prevent money laundering…Large amount of money in and then out again.

Regular monthly deposits and bills paid online are normal and proper use of the account.

They are contacting people by email if there account issues.

USA passport on DTV visa. Account in Chiang Mai. 5 June 2025.

I hope this helps…..I was really freaked out with all the news of BB accounts getting closed.

Hi everyone, this message might be relevant to some of you and I could use some advice: I’m trying to open an Interactive Brokers (IBKR) account, but they’re asking for a TIN (Thai Identification Number). The thing is, I’ve just changed my tax residency and I don’t my TIN at the moment.

Has anyone managed to get around a similar situation?

Is the TIN absolutely necessary?

Thanks in advance for your help! 😁

Does anybody know usually how long does it take after your status changes from “pending document check” to “pending approval” that you receive your actual approved visa?

Hello everyone, we are going to do the DTV in Cambodia in a couple of weeks. For the dependents, we have french birth and marriage certificates. We will get them translated in Thai or English but do we need to have the translation legalized by our embassy? Thanks!
