TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the additional documents needed for a DTV Visa application in Chicago, having already prepared several key documents including a passport, bank statement, driver's license, and proof of employment. Comments from the community suggest the need for a higher financial threshold, possibly an income tax return, and mention document preparation tips such as merging passport pages into a single PDF. There is also a discussion about the necessity of an International Driver's Permit for driving in Thailand.

Can you have one statement with $16,000 or do you need three months?

Put all the pages in your passport and merge into one pdf and compress as only allowed 3mb in each section. I used ‘I love pdf’

You could also be asked to submit your most recent income tax return.

You might also want to get an IDP International Driver's Permit to drive legally in Thailand

correct ✅ and Best to have MORE,as I have seen $17,000 required in prior posts.

"The financial requirement for the DTV visa at the Thai Consulate in Chicago is a minimum of 500,000 Thai Baht (approximately $16,000 USD) in a savings or checking account. This must be demonstrated through a recent bank statement showing the account holder's name and date. The statement should be no older than 7 days from the visa application submission date. If applying from a country other than your home country, financial documents may need to be translated into English and certified by a government agency. "
