Do we need to use different airports for border hops with a DTV visa in Thailand?

We're intending to apply for the DTV and then rent a house in Chiang Mai for a few years (kids will attend a private coop group). I understand we need to border hop every six months but I want to know is it necessary to go to different airports so it doesn't look like we're trying to be permanent residents?

We won't stay longer than five years but when I think about it we're not necessarily 'tourists'. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user intends to apply for a DTV visa and rent a house in Chiang Mai, expressing concern about the necessity of border hopping every six months without being perceived as seeking permanent residency. Responses indicate that re-entering at Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) has been trouble-free for others, who report that immigration simply requires filling out a form for residence verification. Additionally, it's clarified that using any exit method—air or land—is acceptable, and concerns about appearing as a criminal for border hopping are unfounded, as the DTV visa allows for multiple entries.

Air,land or see doesn't matter. Just go out and come back. You have the visa already there is no need to hide like a criminal. It's multi entry so you can come and go as you please. Done listen to the doomsday people here

So far people have had no problem re entering at CNX airport

They pull you to one side, which is scary, but simply as you to fill a form in which is mainly about where you are residing. Then they just stamp you in for 180 days
