Does anyone have any experience of doing a (DTV) visa run to Laos via Chiang Khong? Any issues getting stamped back in for another 180 days? Also I heard they insist on you staying at least one night in Laos correct?

Successful DTV application from HCMC! Completed in just 9 days despite multiple requests for more documents.

Applied Feb 24th:

* Workation: Submitted my contract with a client showing how much I make, also included my CV

* Financial Evidence: Included balance letter, screenshot- did not include 6 months of statements, which I got asked for later.

* Proof of bering in Vietnam: Passport stamp photo (I got asked for more info later)

Feb 27th - Request for Further document:

* Financial evidence: amount of no less than 500,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, sponsorship letter : A deposit account shows the transactions last 6 months and the account balance or a combination of a deposit/saving account totaling not less than 500,000baht. Stock/Crypto/Bitcoin/Investment/Business/PayPal account and sponsor are not accepted.

* Other request documents: Provide details about your current role, including your CV/portfolio, the work examples and supporting materials that demonstrate your experience and qualifications.

I went ahead and submitted six months worth of bank statements despite the fact that none of them showed a balance of 500K baht (I had liquidated some stock to make that much liquid funds, but it hadn't been reflected on a monthly statement yet- luckily that turned out to be a problem.

I also provided a lot more information about the work stuff:

* Got a letter of recommendation written for me, which reference my great work, and also clearly specified my "remote" role

* My work is for an internal tool for a client so I couldn't show them directly, however, I showed them a powerpoint sales presentation we made about it, which also had my name / picture in it

* Showed evidence of being paid: I downloaded my "list of transactions" from Deel, and also showed a bank statement from my other bank (not the one that has 500K) that shows payment from the same name of the corporation that I showed them the contract with.

(Didn't submit again until Saturday March 1 because I was waiting on the recommendation letter)

March 3 - Request for Further document:

* Other request documents: Provide company registration.

* Document indicating current location: Provide proof of your current residency in Vietnam by submitting a selfie that shows the time and day in the travel destination, a purchase receipt bearing your name and the date of purchase,..

For company registration I was a bit worried, because the company I contract with is HQ'd outside the US, but they pay me through a US LLC with a different name- I was able to get company registration doc for the main (non-US) company but getting the US LLC doc would have taken a lot longer. So I just submitted the company registration for the main (non-US), and explained how that company's name was on the main letterhead, and the CEO's name is in the registration document etc, and that turned out to be fine.

For "Document indicating current location" I bought a coffee at a Phuc Long and took a selfie with the coffee and receipt, and then because they asked for a receipt "bearing my name" I also submitted the Airbnb receipt.

March 5 - DTV approved!

Dear all,

I need to apply for a DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) for medical treatment in Thailand and I kindly ask you to help me clarify some doubts, so as to avoid my application being rejected:

1)"Applicant should not apply for visa more than 3 months before the date of intended arrival."

The regulation says that I cannot apply more than 3 months before the date of intended arrival in Thailand. This means that, if I want to leave in August 2025, I cannot apply yet, right? If today is March 8, 2025, I can apply for a visa with a maximum departure date of June 8, 2025, correct?

2)"Financial evidence: amount of no less than 500,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, sponsorship letter."

Is a letter from the bank stating that my balance is more than 500,000 THB okay?

3)"Document indicating current location."

Is a proof of residence with my Italian address sufficient? Or do I also need a copy of my ID card?

4)"Proof of confirmation to attend the activity or letter of appointment from hospital/medical center."

Is a medical certificate from the hospital stating that I need to undergo medical checks for at least six months valid as documentation?

5) Hotel/flight reservation.

In the DTV visa application I do not need to attach any proof of hotel or flight reservation to Thailand, right? Unlike the 60-day tourist visa, for the DTV you only need the documents listed above, correct?

If yes, how did they fill out the first name and last name in the application?

I have read that they easily reject applications if you miss the middle name, so I guess this part is very strict.

FYI, in Hungary, we say the family name first and then the last name, similar to China.

Anyone who have DTV visa get with Muay Thai . After 6 months out of Thailand and come back process is easy or not. Any documents need to show to thai border immigration again

I have a question regarding the visa application process. As the spouse of a Veteran who receives disability benefits, which serve as our primary source of income, I am unsure about the application procedure. Will my husband be able to include our children and me under his visa, or do I need to submit a separate application? If so, should I attach his benefit checks as proof of income?

Also is it true it is better to fill out the application two weeks after you land in Thailand?.. We’re planning our move in October.

including a motivation letter why I would like to do Muay Thai in Thailand and that I understand that I am not allowed to work there

Proof of location:

Booking confirmation of my flight from Switzerland to Thailand

Certificate of domicile (in German: Wohnsitzbestätigung)

Swiss ID Card

and all the documents that I got from my Muay Thai Gym

After I submit my application and it is pending approval, do I need to stay in the country where I applied until it is approved? Or can I travel outside of the country until it is approved? I applied online through the embassy in Hanoi.
