I would like to request assistance in applying for a Thai Tax Identification Number (TIN) at the earliest, even though I have not yet completed 180 days in Thailand.

As I will be earning taxable income during this period, obtaining a TIN early may help reduce the applicable tax rate and simplify tax filing later.

Please let me know if this is possible and what documents you require from my side.

The Visa galaxy in Thailand is a nightmare. One cannot know exactly what to do since procedures change depending on region/office/Clerk ……. For me, this is the one and only stone in the shoe for Thailand

Okay I have my typo retirement visa for one year but I went through an agent and I now have the 800,000 in the bank how can I go about making everything legit now that everything has been faked just curious I want to make sure everything's legal I didn't know that going through an agent was doing something under board I've been putting the 64k in the bank every month and I just put the 800,000 in the bank. Should I wait until I apply for the extension or do I tell them I want to change to another type Visa when I do my 90-day check-in I haven't done the 90 day first check in yet because I had to leave the country to get my finances in order should I go back to the agent and tell him I want to start over what's the best route?

Hello everyone! I need some suggestions regarding my DTV application.

I applied DTV on 28th June under workcation (freelancer) in Ho Chi Minh and being requested additional documents on 1st July. And I got rejected on 7th July.

So should I just reapply again in Cambodia within this week or should I just enter Thailand with Tourist Visa and reapply again in Ho Chi Minh after one month?

Or is there any other suggestions? Thank you for the advices!

Hello, I have a question about the 500000 THB financial requirement. Has anyone been approved or know of someone who’s been approved with funds that were recently transferred? The funds I submitted were 3 months worth, but in an investment account, which I realized isn’t acceptable. I just transferred the funds to my checking account and plan to send this documentation once they hit. I’d like to know if this is sufficient. Applying from the Jakarta embassy.

Update : I received Approval email on 8 July( today )

I applied for a DTV visa on 30 June in Hanoi and received "pending approval" status on 1 July. I haven’t received any updates since then.

My question is:

has anyone received DTV visa approval in Hanoi today (7 July 2025)? How long will it take?

I applied for a soft-power visa (DTV visa) with a Muay Thai camp at the Thai embassy in Cambodia, but it was rejected after two and a half weeks — and I don’t know the reason why. My documents should have been exactly as required by the Thai authorities. Now I’m not sure what to do next. Can anyone help or has anyone experienced a similar situation?

Ankara/Turkey/Türkiye embassy DTV approval! Just posting this for anyone else that might be searching the group for info about the DTV via Ankara.

tl;dr:

I applied with a U.S passport from Tbilisi, Georgia, on June 7 for a July 4 arrival date. I sent one Facebook message that received no reply but seemed to trigger a status change. Visa approved on July 4, but I'd already pushed back my travel plans given the Ankara embassy's long processing times.

----

My application was for the "workcation" version, and, for the work section, I provided a cover letter describing my work in detail (along with a list of links to my sites/projects) and plans to stay in Thailand, a screenshot of my professional website, and a few recent invoices from different clients.

For the financial section, I provided 3 months of bank statements. My bank lets you download a statement of all your accounts smushed into one, so I had 1 checking and about 3 different savings accounts included in the statements, but one of the accounts was over the required 500k THB for 2 out of the 3 months, and 2 of them added together were always over the requirement, so not sure if this is useful as a data point for number of accounts your money can be spread across.

For supporting residence, I provided a clear shot of my most recent entry stamp into Georgia, along with the lease agreement for my current place in Tbilisi.

I waited about 3 weeks, then sent them a message on Facebook asking about my application status. They didn't get back to me, but the next day my application changed from "Pending document check" to "Pending approval" so I didn't contact them again, assuming I was almost there. I'd already decided I was going to stay longer in Tbilisi, anyway, so if it took a little longer that wasn't a problem.

Ultimately, my visa was approved on July 4, which was my intended arrival date. That would have been a little tight for my taste if I hadn't ended up booking a later flight.

Given that it took me a month to get approved and that the approval came in super last-minute, I'd definitely recommend keeping your travel plans flexible.
