Should I reapply for my DTV in Cambodia or enter Thailand with a Tourist Visa and then reapply?

Hello everyone! I need some suggestions regarding my DTV application.

I applied DTV on 28th June under workcation (freelancer) in Ho Chi Minh and being requested additional documents on 1st July. And I got rejected on 7th July.

So should I just reapply again in Cambodia within this week or should I just enter Thailand with Tourist Visa and reapply again in Ho Chi Minh after one month?

Or is there any other suggestions? Thank you for the advices!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether to reapply for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Cambodia after a previous rejection or to enter Thailand with a Tourist Visa and reapply later. Community members suggest improving the application by including specific financial documents and possibly considering other locations for the application, like Hanoi, due to varying document scrutiny.

You might need to find small ways to strengthen your application if you apply again, to ensure you get approved next time.

Cambodia I read is taking some time, HCM can be more picky with documents, did you think about Hanoi?

I would highlight parts in your bank statements and other relevant docs where it states your name, account number, income payments, the 500k deposit if it’s deposited within the statements. You need to show the 500k balance and the ongoing income received, matching your payslips. If you don’t have this in the same bank account, then submit 6 months of bank statements from the 2 banks.

I would also write a formal cover letter to inform them of your intentions in Thailand, why you like it there and want to be there, how you’ll financially support yourself, where you’ll live, that you won’t work in Thailand and list the documents you’re including with your application.

For your company letter ensure it states you are allowed to work remotely in Thailand.

Anonymous participant the required amount is different than payments. For the 500K, I showed one account with a large sum of money. For salary payments, I showed my other account where I get bi-weekly payments for work. They want to see evidence that your digital/nomad job actually brings you income, which would be much less than a 500 K deposit

Anonymous participant where you in HCMC on the 28th onwards? Did you have ample salary slips and what type of work details did you supply?
