Hi all,

Ideally, my wife and I would apply for the DTV visa (me as primary, her as dependent) at the same time. However, my understanding is that I need to apply for the DTV visa first, then my wife can apply separately for a dependent visa once mine is approved.

My question is: is there a waiting period between my primary DTV visa being granted and when my wife can apply for the dependent visa? If so, how long?

We will be applying through the Jakarta embassy.

I haven’t been able to find this information online. Thank you 🙏

I got my DTV (Soft Power - Muay Thai) approved today via embassy in Jakarta after beeing deported from Thailand 2 weeks ago😁😛😎

My story is for all the supporters, believers, phat kaphrao heads and everyone else that is in between!

Let me tell my story how it really was…

21th of March:

I entered Suvarnabhumi aiport after beeing away from Thailand for 1 month. I was on the ED Visa prior for 9 months and that’s why I had to leave.

I wanted to enter the kingdom on a regular tourist visa this time but they denied my entry and deported me back to Cambodia where I came from. (I spend 1 month there)

The reason they deported me was "wrong visa". Unfortunately the immigration officers weren’t very "talkative" so they let me wait 4 hours until they told me I’m getting deported. They put me and the other boys into detention room, made us pay for the room & forced us to buy a flight ticket back to the same airport via the same airline we came with.

My flight was the next day 8am so I only spend a few hours there.

22th of March:

Arriving in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in the morning. After back and forward with the immigration officers there and answering the question "Why Thailand deported me?" several times they gave me back my passport and gave me the regular tourist visa for 30 days.

23th - 25th of March:

Staying in Phnom Penh and figuring out a plan how to enter the kingdom again.

26th of March:

Flying to Bali from Phnom Penh, layover was in Kuala Lumpur. The flight was fairly cheap.

27th of March:

Applying for the DTV E-Visa. I had all my documents and muay thai gym papers already ready.

My original plan was to do it in Cambodia when I was there for a month but because I heard they ask for a personal letter from

the administrator of sport or something like that I got scared to apply there😂

I didn’t want to throw the visa fees out of the window due to that.

Documents I applied with for Jakarta:

- Muay Thai Docs, Invitation letter, etc.

(I used Muay Thai Fever in Chiang Mai)

- Bank Statement 6 months

(Last 2 months were over 500’000 Thai Bath.. first few months the balance was sometimes minus😅)

- Passport Picture made in Cambodia

- First Page of Passport (Bio data)

- Hotel Booking in Bali (1 night)

- Plain Ticket to Bali

- Electronic Visa on Arrival (Sent to E-mail)

29th - 30th of March:

Staying inside the hotel for 24 hours because nobody on the island is allowed to leave the house. The whole island shuts down for 24 hours. It felt a bit like covid again😂

I used this time to think about my life, think about thailand and all my (potential) girlfriends waiting there for me.

1th of April:

So here comes the part where I messed up but I didn’t realize until that day.

This could be really interesting for the group‼️

I have an US Passport but when I filled out the form I put "Switzerland" in the field "Place of Issue" instead of "United States Department of State". The reason is simple because I’m a dual citizen and got my passport in Switzerland. I realized it when I was scrolling through the group that this is a mistake and that many people got rejected cause of it after all those days of not hearing anything.

I wrote them an e-mail right away when I realized it (it was before they reached out to me) and told them I messed up and that I’m aware of it. I apologized and translated the message also into thai. Don’t know if it made a difference but in my case maybe I just was lucky that they still approved me.

3th of April:

Finally they reached out to me and asked me for further documents. They asked for a bank statement where my name was clearly visible. So I provided the already sent bank statement and highlighted my name with color.. made it all neat and stuff. This time I only send them 2 months.

4th of April:

Status changed to Pending Approval

5th of April:

Got approved at 10:30am Bali Time.

Joined the DTV CLUB and super happy now!

Story to be continued…

Thanks for reading this far & big thanks to this group! I will still keep on reading comments in here because it’s so entertaining😂

Hello everyone,

Here’s my situation: I applied for the DTV Visa on Wednesday, February 26. My status was Pending Document Check for two days until today, Friday, February 28. They requested a more recent photo with a plain white background, which I uploaded. As soon as I submitted it, my status changed instantly to Pending Approval.

Has anyone in this group applied at the Jakarta embassy? If so, how long did it take after reaching Pending Approval to receive the visa?

(As a side question, is it possible that even after reaching Pending Approval, they might request additional documents?)

I have a flight back to Bangkok on Thursday, March 6. Should I keep my flight, or is it too uncertain? Thanks!

Just got approved in Jakarta

The process was really fast , I arrived here on Saturday 8th Feb in the morning , applied on Sunday, on Tuesday at 11pm they asked for a more clear photo, I sent that at 12pm and after it immediately turned to pending approval , I got the visa today (Wednesday 12th Feb) at 10 am, as you can see it took like 2-3 days for the whole process.

Documents : I applied for soft power Muay Thai

I bought a 30 session package at wild cat Muay (In Chiang Mai) for 10k thb and the owner provided all the necessary documents.

For the bank statement I just added the 500k thb to my Thai bank like 4 days before leaving for Jakarta.

And I sent them a 3 months bank statement.

Location : Agoda hotel reservation + E-VOA that I got on my email after entering Jakarta through the e-gates (no stamp)

I highly suggest you go through Jakarta to apply, seems like it's the fastest embassy right now

And I highly suggest wildcat Muay Thai for the documents, 10k is a steal and you can do 30 sessions for a 6 months period.

Has anyone recently gone for a Soft Power DTV in Jakarta and provided only the current month's bank statement ? i.e. with the 500k in the current month (of applying) and not also provided any historical statements ?

Quick question. I’m flying to Jakarta to apply in person tomorrow before it closes. Do I need to have the 500k baht in one account? Or can most be in my personal and some be in my business account? I have bank statements for both.

Approved in Jakarta - Soft Power(Muay Thai)

The process was smooth and stress free.

I recommend going early in the morning around 07:00. Check the documents multiple times and organize them well. There are people who spend a long time for checking and organizing their documents in front of the counter. Don't do that. The people waiting outside are suffering from the hot weather.

Korean passport holder

Visa fee : free for Koreans(also Singaporeans, Malaysians and Tunisians)

Processing time : 3 business days

Documents

- passport bio page

- 2 recent photos

- proof of stay in Jakarta

(hotel reservation and EVOA details)

- in and out flight ticket

- bank A's statement for 6 months

(transferred approx 500k THB 1 day before applying; my main account, so there are many transactions)

- bank B's statement for 6 months

(deposited approx 250k THB for ages; I don't use this account, so there are no transactions)

- muay thai gym documents

(3 months course; highly recommend Tiger Eye Martial Arts if you are staying in Bangkok)

- condo lease/rental agreement

(not required, but I thought it might help with the visa application)

Came to Jakarta the day prior to submitting - 10/10.

Had 6 months of financials - they actually gave me back 4 months said only needed 2, but more is always better in this case imo.

Soft power documents- in my case Muay Thai

Documentation of flights in and out of Indonesia and accommodation

5.6m idr

And copy of passport with all stamps and bio page

Application filled out, signed and photos stapled already

I arrived at 645, the first person arrived at 3am straight from the airport. I was in and out before 10am my time at the window was literal minutes I had everything ready to go; was told to come back Thursday 10/14 and given a slip.

Retrieved it today and I did not see ANY rejections out of the 30ish people I talked too, so all applied for various reasons from soft power to medical to digital nomad.

Hope this is helpful they will close in person the 21st so if are considering I would book a flight asap

Cheers.

Does embassy ask for stamp in the documents? How do you do it? Is it digital stamp or physical stamp? How to get physical stamp if company does not exist in my countey? Recently saw some comments mentioning embassy is asking for a stamp. I am going to try jakarta embassy next week. Trying to make sure I get everything right first time.
