Hello and firstly thank you to all those in this group who make the application process so much smoother. My son had his DTV Visa approved. He applied in Hanoi, submitted Sunday evening when he arrived, change to pending document check on Monday, change to pending approval on Wednesday, nothing at all until Saturday. He was due to fly out on Sunday so he sent them a polite email asking for an update. No update came so he left back to Thailand, two hours after he arrived home he received approval. Now he’ll have to go out and come back again to activate the Visa but this is to remind everybody that this office works both Saturdays and Sundays! Although official hours are not on the website, his approval email came at 7:34 pm on a Sunday.

And yes, we know officially he should stay in the country until it is approved, but he had to come back for personal reasons .

Hello everyone, are there any Malaysians or Singaporeans on here who have successfully gotten the DTV? Would really appreciate some help on how to fill in our names, since our passports do not differentiate between family and given names. The machine readable zone recognizes our entire name as a family name 😅

Hi, anyone knows if working online in Thailand triggers personal income tax? Anyone has any experience or knowledge about it?

My friend is applying in Hanoi. The system has said 'payment failed' 3 times, using 3 different cards. He has changed browser from Chrome to Firefox, same thing. Now it just signs them out and returns to sign-in screen when they try to pay. The info is all correct. They think it might have something to do with addresses, but it's not clear how that would work, and the payment screen doesn't have any fields for address info anyway. There is nothing even showing up in bank app as pending or declined. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

Hi all, I will be submitting my DTV workcation application from Jakarta next month. Has anyone had any issues doing this with using an AirBnB booking to show proof of stay in Jakarta rather than a hotel booking?

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports announced that the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system — an online platform for pre-arrival registration — will officially launch on 1 May 2025. Foreign nationals entering Thailand must complete their registration during the three days leading up to their arrival at [members only].

“The system is fully ready, and backup measures are in place to ensure smooth operations. During the initial phase, travelers who encounter any issues can temporarily use a paper immigration form. TDAC is designed to streamline immigration procedures, enhance data accuracy, strengthen security, and make the arrival experience more convenient for international visitors,” said Ms. Natreeya Taweewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Another success story from Hanoi - after 2 years on ED visa I was a bit worried, but I got my DTV and entered succesfully through DMK in Bangkok - no question asked. This group helped me a lot applying for my DTV visa, so I too want to contribute. Below are all the details:

Embassy: Hanoi

Category: Workcation (sorry, I forgot which subcategory I picked, not sure if freelancer or company - but my company is registered in my country as Sole proprietorship = 1 person "company")

Time: 7 days = 5 working days

Timeline:

20th April (late night): Applied & paid

21st April: Pending document check

22nd April: Pending Approval

27th April (evening): Approved

> NOTE: I got approved on Sunday, and since there were numerous similar reports (some even mentioned they received visas on official holidays), it seems like the embassy is working also on weekends, and probably also during holidays in some limited mode. So don’t lose hope, you really can receive your visa anytime.

Documents:

1. Proof of current location: 3-page PDF:

- booking of hotel in Vietnam (for 5 nights)

- stamp from Viet immigration

- my Viet e-visa

2. Financial evidence: 10-page PDF:

- last 6 months of bank statements

- also added a screenshot from the current (unfinished) month of April, as I've applied ~ 20th

> NOTE1: I had ~ 600k on my bank account for around 3 months, not 6

> NOTE2: I did not translate stataments to English, as that would be an enormous amount of work (translating 20+ pages of PDF, without breaking layout is not fun…), but it didn’t matter. All I did was highlight the ENDING monthly balance + my monthly paycheck.

3. Portfolio: 16-page PDF:

- Portfolio: 3 pages, just screenshots from my (web) portfolio

- Payslips for the last 6 months: 6 pages

- Proof of my company/business registration: 2 pages

> NOTE: I did translate this one, as it’s quite important, and attached BOTH the original and translated versions.

- Letter to allow myself to work remotely from TH: 1 page

> NOTE: Since my company is a Sole proprietorship, I wrote myself a generic letter that I allow myself to work remotely, my role is this and that, and that if there are more questions, you can contact me any time at a@b.c. There are many examples, so just search this group

- CV: 2 pages

- Screenshots from LinkedIn: 2 pages

Summary:

I made sure all the documents looks nice + I also added a little table of content at the beginning of each document - I think it's quite useful, if you have 10+ pages. I didn’t want to leave anything to chance. It was quite exhausting, and I’m glad it’s over, but it paid off ;)

Useful tools: Use smallpdf.com for merging and editing PDFs. It's not perfect, but I didn't find anything better.

IMPORTANT: Double, triple, quadruple-check your application with fresh eyes before submitting! It’s a lot of documents, a lot of work, mistakes can happen. For instance, I discovered a tiny mistake on my 3rd and final check, so just to be sure, I made a 4th one again lol.

FOR NON-ENGLISH SPEAKERS: Looks like you don’t need to translate everything to English. I only translated my business license, and that was enough. I’d go crazy if I had to translate, let alone notarize, all 30+ pages of financial evidence and portfolio!

Good luck to everybody!

I have been staying in Bangkok with DTV for a month now. When I arrived, i immediately did my TM30 with an agent since they told me to do it within 24hrs. Currently i am staying at my one of my relatives property who are also foreigners with no lease contract. How do i do TM30 with no lease contract. Or should i just pay once every 3 month with an agent. (300baht). Will it be a problem when i do my tm47? Thanks in advance 🙏

Full Refund of training fee if visa application declined for any reason. Up to now we have only refunded if failure due to our documents but the landscape has changed and we are in touch with what is going on. We will now refund you if the application fails for any reason. Its bad enough that people are loosing the application fee, at least now the Muay Thai fee is not at risk.
