Hello and firstly thank you to all those in this group who make the application process so much smoother. My son had his DTV Visa approved. He applied in Hanoi, submitted Sunday evening when he arrived, change to pending document check on Monday, change to pending approval on Wednesday, nothing at all until Saturday. He was due to fly out on Sunday so he sent them a polite email asking for an update. No update came so he left back to Thailand, two hours after he arrived home he received approval. Now he’ll have to go out and come back again to activate the Visa but this is to remind everybody that this office works both Saturdays and Sundays! Although official hours are not on the website, his approval email came at 7:34 pm on a Sunday.

And yes, we know officially he should stay in the country until it is approved, but he had to come back for personal reasons .

ORIGINAL POSTER
UK O-A online visa application update

I would have commented on my original post but comments have been switched off.

After a bit of a kerfuffle with the online application asking for too many things I sent my passport of on Tuesday.

Passport has now been returned on Friday with my full years visa.

So something that might help people was that where it asked for requirements relating to a business/ED visa, duplicates of the already uploaded documents seems to have worked. I do have a feeling this glitch will be fixed at some point but this workaround may help someone.

Another point of observation was that I sent them a copy of my ISA which at the time was at the maximum 20K GBP. At the current exchange rate it worked out to be 760K THB. (still used to thinking 50thb/pound 😞). Anyway after I sent my application I realised this and I was expecting them to contact me asking for some extra proof to take me over the 800k but they did not and they did accept it.

Thanks again to all who helped with this, and though just a quick update may help others who may be stuck!

Time to book a flight!!!
