I applied to and received a DTV visa through the soft power route, since I’m not yet making a lot of money as a freelancer. Now I see that it says on my visa under remarks: ‘employment not allowed’. I was hoping to continue working for non-Thai clients. Can someone please confirm that even soft power visa holders are allowed remote work? I’m also unsure now what to put on my tdac.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to apply for DTV/SoftPower/Muay Thai academy. Have some questions that need some clarity.

1. Have no proof of income / not working/ unemployed..but have enough funds for DTV requirements

2. Age above 50yrs

What are the chances of it getting approved?

Appreciate any advice I can get 🙏

Hi everyone,

I received my DTV one year ago, and now I would like to add my wife under the family category so that she can also receive DTV. We both currently live in the U.S.

Has anyone gone through this process before? If so, could you please share your experience or provide some guidance on how to do it? I’d really appreciate any advice or tips.

Thank you!

Hi all, so here's my situation...on September 14, which is a Sunday, my visa runs out. If I could get it extended on that day, all would be fine for my exit from Thailand on October 12. However, because it is a Sunday, I either have to get it extended on the Friday, and then be a day or 2 late when leaving the country or be 1 day late for the extension. My thoughts are it would be best to be a day late asking for an extension but would like to know what would happen either way as I don't want it marked on my passport if avoidable.

So i have made a bit of an error in not asking my Thai family I’m staying with to do the TM30. I arrived to stay with them on Friday evening. We came from a hotel in Bangkok. I’m on non o visa which will change to married visa after 3 months. Question is, is it easy enough for family to do TM30 online and will we get fined? Thanks if you read all of this!

Hi everyone 👋

I’m looking into getting an ED visa to study Thai in Bangkok, and I’d really appreciate some advice.

* What are the most reputable Thai language schools in the city that people recommend for the ED visa?

* Any tips or experiences (good or bad) you’ve had with schools, the visa process, or things to look out for?

Thanks a lot for any insights 🙏

I have previously traveled to Thailand on numerous occasions, using the 60 visa excemption with a 30 day extension, twice a year to visit my Thai wife ,

I have never been asked by a airline or Thai immigration for a onward travel ticket,

Has this situation changed , advice please

I have two questions to ask for advice.

Firstly, instead of making the THB800,000 deposit, can I have a combination of a smaller deposit and money coming into my account every month, or do I need both?

Secondly, is the money currently being deposited into your account on a monthly basis being taxed 10% yet as I have read previously,?

I have asked both of these questions to immigration agents and received no reply.

FYI. The monthly amount is in the form of a retirement fund and has already been taxed twice by my Government, I'm not wanting to get it taxed a third time.

huge travel noob here, I'm from the uk, last month i went to thailand for 2 weeks on holiday, i loved it so much im now planning travelling around thailand in 2026 and i want go for around 6 months to a year, i understand that i can go for 60 days with the Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme and then extend for another 30 days, 90 days in total, obviously i want to stay longer than that, so what type of visa should i apply for?, or is it easier to leave thailand for vietnam or somewhere for a certain period and then come back for another 60 + 30 days and if so how long would i have to be in vietnam before i would be allowed back on the Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme?, i have no idea what im doing as you can tell, any help appreciated.
