I just flew to Thailand on Monday Direct from London with Thai Airways, £670 return including checked luggage and preferred seats. Best way to book is to follow the airline when they are running a promotion. At the moment Qatar airlines are running a promotion.

I found all the available sites offered basically the same flights and prices. I called the online site I have used in the past to see if they truely had special deals for phone only. Ended up paying what I was seeing everywhere, but they got me on a flight that I didn't on any of my searches. Instead of a 6 hour layover in ICN, I only have 1 hour 50 minutes. That's a huge win for me

Google flights will send you an alert. Try the explore and look at the map. BKK is normally the lowest cost destination for me, but??? Train, short hop air, experience the journey
